This study analyzed the communication between the protagonists in the movie “Good Will Hunting”, to explore a possible therapeutic method based on the conversations depicted therein. In the movie, Will faces various psychological problems rooted in the childhood trauma he has experienced, and receives conversation-based trauma therapy from his counselor Sean. This paper illustrates the consistency between the process of trauma therapy and the stages of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). The study divided Sean and Will's conversations into sections based on the four stages of AEDP, to determine the possible conversation strategy within each stage and analyze them for trauma therapy using the conversation method. In conclusion, the paper presents educational suggestions based on the conversation strategies that emerged in the dynamic psychotherapy process. These suggestions can be applied not only to trauma therapy, but also to conversations with strangers or hostile persons.

This study determines the educational implications for dialogue education by analyzing mitigation in empathic communication. Based on Caffi(2007) and Li(2018, 2019), this study reclassified mitigation as prepositional, illocutionary, deictic, and perlocutionary. The analysis established that while the use of expressions that decrease the illocutionary force was remarkable, deictic and perlocutionary mitigation were rarely revealed. They mainly appear in narrative genres such as novels and web-toons. Empathic expressions through mitigation occur in activities where attention is rarely paid to the speaker's intention. Accordingly, this study proposed three directions of empathic dialogue education from a pragmatic perspective. First, it highlighted the necessity of participant-centered empathic dialogue education encompassing both speakers and listeners. Second, it emphasized the necessity of empathic dialogue education through an integrated approach to the literature and grammar. Finally, it suggested the direction of practice of empathic dialogue education based on metapragmatic reflexivity.

Self-disclosure is a communicative behavior through which individuals sincerely and intentionally communicate novel truth and traditionally private information about themselves to one or more individuals. People decide whether to self-disclose based on their socio-cultural background and personal differences, and evaluate the situation, including the purpose, benefit, and risk of self-disclosure. This study explored aspects of dissatisfaction experienced on both sides when people are asked to self-disclose and do so.
The drama “Gaetmaeul Chachacha” was analyzed as a source. Scenes chosen for analysis were self-disclosure situations, including follow-up questions and reactions, considering verbal and nonverbal hesitation cues. Regarding the questioner's problems, two problem types were suggested: being unprepared to listen and insincere questions. Concerning the respondents' problems, four types were suggested: ignoring the questioner's intentions, focusing only on conveying the facts, excessive consideration for others, and failure to set self-disclosure boundaries.
By examining examples of unsuccessful questions and reponses in self-disclosure from the speaker and listener's perspective, the results could create a foundation for appropriate self-disclosure.

To use correct language, we should prioritize 'correct pronunciation and writing.' A section called 'correct pronunciation and notation' was provided in middle school Korean textbooks to reduce any confusion. Among them, they can learn standard pronunciation in the section corresponding to 'correct pronunciation.' This study compares and analyzes the 'correct pronunciation' units of 9 middle school Korean textbooks in 2015 and examines the differences between the Korean language textbooks and the learners' actual pronunciation based on the 'standard pronunciation method.' This study found that learners overlooked the 'correct pronunciation' that corresponds to the 'standard pronunciation method.' Therefore, in the future, Korean language textbooks should follow the direction that learners can lead a desirable language life through correct Korean pronunciation. To reduce the problem, a more in-depth and careful study should be conducted on the compilation of textbooks that consider the actual pronunciation conditions of learners.

This study aimed to analyze the factors of the willingness of Chinese Korean learners to communicate in real-time online classes to find methods to improve it. To this end, the qualitative study used a focus diary technique to determine the changes in the willingness of Chinese Korean learners to communicate according to the method of real-time online and offline classes, and a quantitative survey was conducted on 125 Chinese Korean learners studying at three educational institutions in Seoul. The results revealed that Chinese Korean learners' willingness to communicate was influenced by affect, situational, and linguistic factors. The survey results will be used as fundamental material to proposeᅠa teaching and learning plan for understanding the factors affecting the willingness of Chinese Korean learners to communicate and increasing their willingness to communicate.

Self-disclosure is a verbal and nonverbal behavior through which individuals truthfully, sincerely and intentionally communicate novel, traditionally private information including thoughts and feelings about themselves to one or more individuals. People have personal and relationship-based motives for engaging in or refraining from self-disclosure. This study explores how people react when they are required to self-disclose but are unwilling to do so.
The drama “Gaetmaeul Chachacha” was analyzed as a source. Scenes for analysis were self-disclosure situations including follow-up questions and reactions, considering both verbal and nonverbal cues of hesitation.
Consequently, instances of self-disclosure were classified into five categories: accepting provided information, providing information (providing minimized information, providing reduced information, telling a white lie, and providing factual information), not providing information (closing the conversation, pretending to be indifferent, claiming incompetence, denying directly and indirectly), jointly searching for information, and delaying providing information.
Since self-disclosure relies strongly on relationships and mutual relationship perceptions may differ, interest in active self-disclosure should be constructively expanded to manage various self-disclosure aspects through self-disclosure decision-making.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of research related to Korean pragmatics from 1987 to 2021. A total of 610 studies were analyzed by text data, extracting topics and keywords with high potential associations over time by using topic modeling techniques. According to the analysis, the research on Korean pragmatics has improved, nearly tripling in number since the 2000s. In addition, the the analysis of the frequency of keyword “Korean pragmatics” showd that this topic has been studied with keywords such as “strategy”, “situation”, “expression”, “speaker”, “request”, and “refusal”. Results also confirmed that the research on Korean pragmatics has been conducted under the themes of “strategy of request and refusal”, “compliments, apologies, complaints, and politeness”, “grammar-related pragmatic” and “indirect conversation about pragmatic education”. On the basis of the results, this study makes the following suggestions. First, a study on the listener's understanding of dialogue act and various methods for teaching dialogue should be conducted. Second, the research methods for pragmatics should be diversified and not limited to discourse completion tasks. Third, when approaching the characteristics of Korean pragmatics, interdisciplinary research related to the adjacent linguistics field and various academic fields should be conducted.
