배경: 한국 생명의료윤리 연구는 1998년부터 시작하여 현재까지 이르고 있으며, 그 전체적인 양과 연구 동향에 관한 분석은 이루어지지 않았다. 따라서, 본 연구는 한국 생명의료윤리 연구의 전체적인 지향을 파악하고자 하였다. 방법: 1998년부터 2021년 초까지 국내 생명의료윤리 분야 주요 5개 학술지에 투고된 논문 1,064개의 영문 키워드를 대상으로 키워드 네트워크 분석을 시행하였다. 군집, 연결중심성, 매개중심성을 통해 분석하였고, 세 시기(1998~2008년, 2009~2015년, 2016~2021년)로 나누어 다시 분석법을 적용하였다. 결과: 한국 생명의료윤리 연구는 주로 연구 윤리 영역에 초점을 맞추어 이루어졌고, 의료윤리 교육, 자율성, 프라이버시 또한 주목을 받았다. 이론적 측면에선 덕윤리에 관심이 기울여졌다. 반면, 공중보건 윤리, 종교 생명윤리, 환경윤리, 신경윤리, 전문가 윤리 영역에선 상대적으로 연구가 덜 진행되었다. 토의 및 결론: 본 논문은 생명의료윤리 연구에서 이론적 차원의 다변화, 덜 다루어진 주제의 탐구 지원을 위한 학술적 노력, 연구 결과의 정량적 평가를 위한 의학주제표목의 활용 등을 제언하였다.

Background: Biomedical ethics research in South Korea began in 1998 and has continued to the present. However, no analysis has been conducted on its entire quantity and research trend. Therefore, this study examines the overall orientation of Korean biomedical ethics research. Methods: Keyword network analysis was performed on English keywords of 1,064 research articles published in five major journals in the field of biomedical ethics in South Korea. The analysis was conducted through cluster analysis, degree centrality, and betweenness centrality. The method was applied again by dividing the entire research history into three periods (1998-2008, 2009-2015, and 2016-2021). Results: Biomedical ethics research in South Korea was mainly focused on the area of research ethics. Medical ethics education, autonomy, and privacy were also received attention. Virtue ethics was centers in the theoretical domain. On the other hand, public health ethics, religious bioethics, environmental ethics, neuroethics, and professional ethics had been received relatively low attention. Discussion: This paper suggested diversification at the theoretical domain in biomedical ethics research, academic efforts to support the exploration of less examined topics, and the use of Medical Subject Headings for quantitative evaluation of research results.
