The purpose of this paper is to present a model that complements the limitations of the discounted cash flow method and can consider various aspects of private business operators' investment decisions. At the same time, at the national level, a financial feasibility study was conducted to ensure the efficiency of national fiscal input in the port sector through appropriate use of private capital.
The results are as follows. As shown in the causal map of the financial model, the efficiency figure has a feedback relationship with the items of over-input and under-output, so it can be seen immediately that the result value changes dynamically according to the degree to which each item changes according to the change in efficiency. Through this, it is possible to individually adjust the input excess and output deficiency, but it also has the advantage of being able to find the optimal input and output values by adjusting the two items at the same time.

This paper deals with structural approaches to regional/local polarization in Korean society and systems thinking, especially the impact of the post-COVID19 era. Toward this purpose, this paper intends to contribute to the practical policy direction by deriving CLDs (Causal Loops Diagrams) on regional/local polarization through reviews of various literature on related topics, reflecting the effects of the post-COVID19 era in this system structure.
Based on the simple and basic structure of the population emigration to the SMR (Seoul Metropolitan Area), focusing on regional/local jobs and settlement conditions, structural inference is conducted on the dynamic structure and policy response effects of the post-COVID19 era through the distinction between existing and new industries. In conclusion, this paper emphasizes that the influence of the era causes accelerating effects through a series of reinforcing causal loops in the existing regional/local polarization structure and needs appropriate policy responses to stabilize them.

Recently, smart urban regeneration has begun to appear owing to the necessity of the integration of smart city technology and urban regeneration. The concept of smart urban regeneration combines smart city technologies such as information and communication technology, big data, and artificial intelligence with urban regeneration projects. To date, no studies have considered smart urban regeneration from the perspective of the entire city system based on the dynamic process of urban growth and decline. Therefore, in the present study, using systems thinking, the causal structure of how smart urban regeneration changes and interacts was analyzed, and policy implications for activating smart urban regeneration were derived. According to the results of the analysis, smart urban regeneration functions as a policy alternative for overcoming the limitations of land, capital, budget, and limited resident participation, which comprise the existing constraints on urban growth and regeneration. Among the key variables of smart urban regeneration, “education and promotion” constituted the main variable that was required for the transition to a virtuous cycle; the “revision of the legal system” and the “training of professional manpower” were derived as strategic intervention points. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed smart urban regeneration from the perspective of the entire city system by employing causal loop diagrams for the interactive relationships between major variables. In the future, the results herein can be used to establish promotion strategies for smart urban regeneration.

This study examined the results through simulations of the effects of weir opening using system dynamics modeling, and explored policy countermeasures that address social, economic and environmental issues and realize the value of nature-based water quality management based on them. Research results have shown that weir opening has a positive effect on recovery of nature by reducing river stay time and increasing flow rate. However, since water quality is affected by weather conditions such as rainfall and pollutants flowing into tributary streams as well as weir opening, it has been revealed that failure to think about the side effects could offset the positive effects of weir opening. In conclusion, simulations have shown both positive and negative effects due to weir opening. Therefore, more rigorous and structural researches and responses through sophisticated policy approaches are needed to restoration of naturalness by the weir opening.

This study looked at how the air transportation sector is affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic situation, its ripple effects through systems thinking and causal circulation analysis, and sought to draw a policy agenda to respond at a national level as a policy lever to reduce damage to the air transport industry. The most important points of the study are enhancing the efficiency of airport operations, supporting hub airlines, and investing in airport capacity and smart airports and intelligence services. In other words, efforts should be made to minimize economic ripple effects through the establishment of intelligent systems in the air transportation industry, and to reverse all existing systems to cope with future hyper-uncertainty.

This paper aims to investigate best practices of collaborative supply chain management. To meet this objective, this paper conducts a case study on iCOOP consumer co-operative and draws causal loop diagrams. It will name three key strategic policies related to customer-supplier partnerships and demonstrate how they enhance iCOOP's supply chain performance. The three strategic policies are 1) win-win pricing policy, 2) membership fee, and 3) customer cash advance payment. Additionally, the paper will show how these three policies create positive feedback loops which enhance the iCOOP's supply chain performance as a whole. Particularly, the three policies foster a more amicable relationship among supply chain partners which elevates supply chain performance as a whole over time. This case could serve as a model for companies who are looking to build more sustainable supply chain partnerships that are powered by trust.
