This study aims to present common limitations and alternatives to the education of creativity, convergence, and competence. The problem focused is that there are big discrepancies between key competency education mentioned in the OECD report and the education of them which have been conducted as domestic responses. To develop the discussion, firstly, two OECD reports are analyzed. By looking at how they are being dealt with in the two reports, this study wants to see what the original trends and contents of global education reform have been. Secondly, common perspectives on the promotion of education of them which have been lasted over decade are extracted. The subjects of this analysis are the national level 09 and 15 revised curriculum and the main national scale report. Thirdly, the limitations, suggestions, and alternatives to the real direction of educational innovation are discussed.

William James, who lived in a time when the desire for societal progress through science was strong, thought that the concept of causality in science was not always applicable to human life, even though many intellectuals believed in scientific methods and that scientific methods were linked to human behavior. James' philosophy was a philosophy of life focused on human experience, and his philosophy deals with the various experiences that humans face in their lives and the moral and social problems that they confront. In particular, James' concept of 'freedom' is thought to have meaningful implications for modern society and education today. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to look at James' idea of freedom and find the educational meaning of his thought. I first analyze James' concept of freedom. More specifically, I look at how his idea of freedom is changing as time goes on. I then attempt to examine what James' concept of freedom means to education and find the implications for Korean education.

Drawing on psychoanalytic theories of Melanie Klein and Jacques Lacan, this study attempted to get a new understanding on child and youth identity development. The two theorists helps to find a solution to contemporary psycho-social problems by providing in-depth and insightful perspectives for subject formation process and psychological structurings
Klein's and Lacan's theory of subject formation have reaffirmed the inextricable relationship between reason and passion as well as the importance of symbol formation in the human psyche development and education. Their perspectives have shown the possibilities and limitation of (unconscious) human subject, and also have asked a decision and efforts to achieve a genuine subjectivation. Particularly, adolescence is an important period for the establishment of self-identity and subjectivation. Adolescents will need proper support and care until they could find their own words.

The paper has tried to examine the correspondence of A. N. Whitehead's Rhythm with JO-HWA-JUNG(造化定) asserted by Soo-Woon(水雲) under the becoming model of education to be proposed. As a groundwork for this, first of all, two main ways of metaphysical thinking have been taken into account, one of which is dubbed as the logic of becoming contrasted with one of being regarded as the traditionally philosophical ways of thinking. The notions of Whitehead's Rhythm are built on his conceptions of Reason, as one particular feature of also his own 'process philosophy'.
As examined here, three levels of Rhythm in the process of education is correspondent with JO-HWA-JUNG in four dimensions. Before this, the paper has also analysed the notions of JO-HWA-JUNG in the context of Dong-Hak(東學) accepted as the particularly Korean authentic philosophy. The four attempts have been made for the correspondence. The first one is concerned on the micro-relation between the two focused on the linguistic analysis. The second one is on the identification of JO-HWA-JUNG with 'becoming'. The third one is the identification of it with 'concrescence' of Whitehead's own authentic notion. And the final one is the identification of it with the dynamic and synchronous process from 'concrescence' to 'transition' through 'satisfaction'. This process particularly throws light on the new notion of becoming model of education which we eventually construct.

The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of narrative as a mechanism for internalization of subjects. In this study, starting with the reflection of misunderstanding of the Bruner's structure of knowledge, the meaning of the narrative was newly established and new possibilities of subject matter were considered. Brunner developed the structure of knowledge from the existing ideas about structure and extended it to the meaning of inquiry and discovery in educational context. And according to Bruner's theory, narrative has the potential to develop into a authentic understanding of the subject by fusion of structure and narrative. In this way, we have developed the new ways from the limits of the existing knowledge-centered curriculum and present new possibilities of narrative from the perspective of constructive generation and creation in education.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the core competencies required to form a whole person by classifying them into individual factors and social factors, this is to derive the universality of confucianism's competency. The essence of the competency concept examined in this paper is summarized as follows. First, confucianism's competency is the concept of the whole. Individual competency is a concept of the whole that combines power to know the virtue, power to do self-cultivation, and power to practice the virtue. Like individual competencies, social competencies are the concept of the whole. Social competence is a combination of the real ability to communicate based on personality, the real ability to inherit the culture, and the real ability to contribute to the community. Second, confucianism's competency is a complex concept. Competency as a condition of becoming a whole person is a complex concept in which individual and social dimensions are combined into one.

The purpose of this article is to interpret Wonhyo's three subtle[三細]·ālaya vijñāna[阿賴耶識] theory educationally. Thus, this study deduced what educational implications are by grasping Wonhyo's theory of mind from a more matched point of view. According to this paper, education is the most important thing to cultivate the mind, and it should be the reason why students acquire knowledge of beautiful mind, and it is related to not only cultivating their own life but also grasping the fundamental meaning of their job in relation to their job more directly. Thus, it was found that students need to approach their jobs from the perspective of a great mind rather than a child while learning at school.

The purpose of this study is to justify that Jacotot's 'universal education' was established under the intensive influences of Enlightenment and to explore the significance of Jacotot pedagogy.
Jacotot pedagogy has the features of Enlightenment. Its epistemology accepts Locke's realism and Kant's transcendental epistemology, a principle of universal education, 'equality between intelligence' is connected with some currents of French Enlightenment in the 18th century, especially Elvètius's thoughts.
As such, Jacotot's pedagogy is a product of Enlightenment, considering that intellectual emancipation is possible only through constant individual practice, not seeking a solution through institutions. It is necessary to listen to Jacotot's pedagogy in order to fundamentally reflect on today's school education system, which is based on rank and distrusts equality between intelligence, and to reconstruct school system on 'equality between intelligence'.

The purpose of this study is to explore how to conceptually recognize curriculum on classical reading and how to practically design and operate this curriculum. The summary of the discussion so far is as follows.
First, a university need to change the basis of the liberal education. Formation of eyes that students look at the world and the expression of their own life are the foundation and basic goal of liberal education. Facing issue of a university is to cultivate the capacity of a humanistic life that is insufficient for the young in our society. This issue should be solved to become the basis of life.
Second, the university should develop the curriculum on reading classics, thereby proving step-stone of thoughts and actions to protect there own life and making an opportunity to build self-esteem. The classics are the product of fierce thinking that solved the problems of the times. The curriculum on reading classics improve students' skills at literacy, critical thinking, and logical discussion. Teaching text with a history, teaching the text as a context, and promoting learning motivation are necessary concerned although there are diverse educational method in reading classics.
Third, the design of curriculum on reading classics should be proper in methodology and operational principles in education. Specifically, the educational goal, educational policy, book selection, and educational method should be appropriate in education. Also, the designation of required courses and expansion of the number of credits, improvement of an educational environment, formation of educational relationship, and the use of reading-note for the curriculum on reading classics are certainly considered for the educational operation.
