The aim of this study was to examine the effects of a cooperative learning class on the teaching efficacy and skills of pre-service early childhood teachers. It sought to offer basic materials for pre-service teachers to provide high-quality education in the field by proposing a cooperative teaching and learning model. This would promote the teaching efficacy and skills of pre-service early childhood teachers. The research participants were 45 students in the 3rd year of a degree in early childhood education at C University. The study took place in the 2nd semester of 2019. The results were: First, the cooperative learning class was effective in improving the teaching efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, and it was effective in improving both general teaching efficacy and personal teaching efficacy. Second, the cooperative learning class on teaching subjects in early childhood education was effective in improving the teaching skills of pre-service early childhood teachers, and it was effective in improving class design, class execution, and class evaluation ability. Therefore, it was suggested that various opportunities to acquire various teaching methods and skills through teacher education courses with cooperative learning were needed to foster teaching efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers.

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of child care teachers' perception of expertise and job satisfaction on their respect for young children's rights. It provides useful data for researchers seeking to improve the quality of child care practice and respect for young children's rights. The subjects of this study were 280 child care teachers in Incheon Metropolitan City. Using the SPSS 21.0 Program for data analysis, we conducted frequency analysis, reliability analysis, ANOVA, post-test, Pearson's product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. We found significant differences in the respect for young children's rights among child care teachers according to their perception of expertise and job satisfaction. In addition, we found significant correlations among the three variables and that the teachers' age and some sub-factors of their perception of expertise and job satisfaction had significant effects on their respect for young children's rights. This study suggests that high levels of perception of expertise and job satisfaction among child care teachers can improve their respect for young children's rights.

This study examined the mediating effect of pro-sociality on the relationship between play and school life adaptation of elementary school students. We verified the statistical significance of the mediating effect by dividing the data from the survey of 690 elementary school students into three stages according to the procedure suggested by Baron and Kenny (1986) and conducting hierarchical regression analysis. Results were: First, there was a positive correlation between elementary school students' playfulness, pro-sociality, and school life adaptation. Second, the mediating model of pro-sociality was evident in the relationship between play and adaptation to school life of elementary school students, and both direct and indirect effects were significant. Third, the mediating effect of pro-sociality appeared directly and indirectly in the relationship between inquiring mind, sense of humor and school life adaptation, excluding social activeness among the sub-factors of play. In order to improve the adaptation to school life of elementary education, we suggested that counseling and education using playfulness and pro-sociality need to be performed, and made suggestions for follow-up research.

The aim of this study was to analyze the 'Home Care Planner Supporters' service, which is a program developed to prevent recurring child abuse, using the concept mapping method. We conducted in-depth interviews with 23 supporters of the service. The collected data were analyzed using the multidimensional equator method. After applying the 6 steps of the conceptual map research method, the focus question was specified, and the research participants were selected, and the participants were asked about the meaning of the 'Home Care Planner Supporters' project. The results revealed in this study are summarized as follows. First, the period of service of 'Home Care Planner Supporters' project execution personnel was the highest for less than one year, and over two years, 19 cases per home care planner were in charge and the number of services provided was 178 times. Second, 84 statements on the improvement plan for 'Home Care Planner Supporters' were classified into 4 clusters such as document budget-related manual maintenance, intervention and case management, employee communication and education, and employee welfare, and the x-axis and y-axis. Two dimensions were 'education and welfare dimension' and 'case management and human resource management'. Third, intervention and case management, employee communication and training, documentation and budget related manual maintenance, and employee welfare were found to be important in service improvement. Based on these results, this study confirmed the need for systematization of the 'Home Care Planner' project and stabilization of employment of project execution personnel in order to prevent recurring child abuse.

This study aimed to verify the mediation effect of social support on the relationship between the ego-strength of children in the higher grades of elementary school and the anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms caused by COVID-19. The Participants were 288 upper elementary students and all the quantitative data collected were analyzed by technical statistics, correlation, and regression analysis using the SPSS 23.0 statistical program. We also verified the mediation effects through the Sobel test. In terms of results we found: First, there was a significant correlation between ego-strength and social support, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Second, ego-strength affected social support, anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms in the higher grade elementary school children. Third, we found that the mediation effect of social support manifested in the relationship between the ego-strength of elementary students and the anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms caused by COVID-19. As such, ego-strength and social support are resources that help people live adaptively in response to uncertain situations such as COVID-19. It is believed that this can help relieve anxiety and post-traumatic stress in children.
