The aim of this study is to seek the aesthetic meaning of grotesque body expressions which have been shown in different modes throughout the long history of dance. In this dissertation, three works of dance are selected and discussed. The image of death, the border with humans and fragmented body expressions are analyzed to observe the feeling of ‘grotesque’ which is widely used as ‘something distorted, ugly and ridiculous’ in real works of dance.
The result shows that the grotesque mostly occurs in the borderline where two themes in opposite ends such as life and death, love and death, humans and dolls and disassembled body parts meet each other and mix together. It also shows that the exploration of a ‘lifeless body’ resulted from three grotesque themes of dance is used as a creative strategy to redefine the concept of body and moves that dynamically change and assemble instead of rejection or denial of a body.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between art high school's dance major's achievement goal orientation and FRS and SPAS.
First, the goal orientations effectively influence only SPAS. Secondly, the relationship between the achievement goal orientations, FRS, and SPAS shows the goal orientation and FRS do not have positive relation, and the relationship shows negative relation with SPAS and one of subfactors, task ego orientation. Also, negative relations appeared between FRS and SPAS. Thirdly, the difference between FRS and SPAS according to the demographic characteristic shows region, sex, grade, and major have significance difference.

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Nijinsky on forming the role and image of male dancers in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. This work reinterprets the original ballet with the swan's gender change, revealing Nijinsky's influence on the heresy and movement motifs of male swans. The influence of Nijinsky, who expanded the realm of ballet through experiments of bisexuality and the nonexponentiality in choreography, is also prominently revealed in Matthew Bourne's male swan.

The purpose of this study is to verify the control effect of individual innovation behavior in terms of effect of empowerment on career preparation behavior targeting 163 college students majoring in modern dance who attend the colleges nationwide. To this end, this study verified the variation amount of R-squared through exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis and moderating effect analysis. As a result of study, first, the competency and effect of empowerment has the positive(+) effect on the exploration behavior. Second, the competency of empowerment has the positive(+) effect on the career preparation behavior while the meaningfulness has the negative effect(-). Third, the relation between the self-determination of empowerment and preparation behavior of career preparation behavior was found to have the control effect of individual innovation behavior. By putting these together, we drew the implications of 'development of dace education program in which empowerment is applied', 'raising awareness on empowerment and innovation behavior'.

This study aims to explore the mutual communication style and behavioral structure among cheerleaders in performing stunt cheerleading. To this end, it used the constitutive ethnography, a qualitative research method. From the findings, four main themes and 10 implications were drawn. First, an analysis on the meaning of physical communication could be conducted based on gaze and mutual gaze, and communication through certain gestures and through senses. Second, the communication in the embodied communication space, including roles, positions and immersion in space was examined for spatial communication. Third, communication through time has been conducted by technical timing and duration of technology. Fourth, communication through vocal behavior has been conducted by the tones of voices and rapidity symbols. The non-verbal communication structure of stunt cheerleading was based on responsibility for each position and trust with partners and affinity. From the findings above, it could be found that non-verbal communication is based on sports communication as indirect/subjective experience.

This study intends to present possibility as new and expanded method of expression and widen scope of expression by applying it to creating works in order to recognize forms of diverse and flexible time which humans face in rapidly changing society due to new media and mediate importance and meaning of time that is ontological reality.
Temporality shown in 「present prospect」, creative dancing work which appears through such process and characteristics of expression are as follows. Firstly, it is continuity by duration which is characterized by multiple expression. Temporality was expressed with dancers' repeated movements. Secondly, it is immanence by intuition which is characterized by symbolic expression. Thirdly, it is reality by freedom which is characterized by amalgamative expression.
Freedom in a work is visualized on a stage by feel of dancer's movement, composition of movement path, and introduction of music and objects creating free and graceful atmosphere. The author of this thesis expects that this study will serve as an opportunity which makes people pay attention to temporality of dance that is art of moment.

This study aims to understand the traits of dances which vibrate in diverse ways between abstract and representation, and explore aesthetic meaning and value of abstract images from dance movements. Both choreographers leave abstract images through body movements. But their images are different in terms of form, content, preservation, and display.
In the works of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, abstract images play an important role of adding abstract nature to a piece of work while following the strategies of repetition and deviation used in the 'geometric abstract' of visual art. However, abstract images deeply relevant to human bodies are in incomplete forms showing traces of human being and therefore display unique and subtle expressive qualities in contrast with the cool geometric design in visual arts. On the other hand, in the works of Trisha Brown which can be described as 'expressive abstract', some of her improvisations are engraved while others naturally disappear. In her works, the movements go beyond the action of drawing abstract images and change repeatedly suggesting new relationship between movements and traces.
The two choreographers accumulate natural traces which are formed over time in space by leaving movements directly. Ironically, what shows up in the process is concrete images of time and space hidden behind the movements and music faced and felt by the audience. After this research, I am planning to explain whether the abstract images in digital media should be interpreted in different ways and conduct an in-depth study on aesthetic qualities created by digital abstract images in dance.

As dance begins to be recognized as an independent area in arts, the existence and authority of dancers who are experts in it becomes clear. This proves that there exists the profession of a dancer and its originality and professionalism is recognized. In recent society, the artistic value of creating dance is recognized, and the improvement in treatment of those engaged is pursued. In Korea, a system is prepared based on the various creative activities of dancers and welfare systems are being implemented. However, whether dancers are qualified for incorporating into the welfare system and benefited from it depends upon the viewpoint of considering dance as labor. Therefore, this study examines the reality of the social security system including the actual income of dancers, their registration as artists, classified wages according to characteristics of their works etc. This thesis deals with not only practical problems, but also suggestions according to the art policy system.

new traditional dance must be a new direction emerged in the 21st Century. In the history of dance, artistic dance has seen new expression methods unfold according to the times. It's meaningful that a new type of artistic dance emerged at this moment when more than 100 years have passed since the Korean dance circle had started the artistic dance. Apart from this, new traditional dance can make traditional dance in the past into a more evolved form, paving the way for the advancement of traditional dance in the future. And so, new traditional dance could be an ideal dance activity allowing us to connect between the past, the present and the future. Further discussion of new traditional dance for its development is needed and, the study believes, activation of new traditional dance from the further evolved perspective may have a positive effect on the development of the country's dance world.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze what changes were made in the subjects of the study by year and period of academic papers and master's and doctorate papers in Korea before and after covid- 19, and what key topics. The results of the comparative analysis were divided into the first period before covid-19 (2018-2019) and the second period after covid-19 (2020-2021).
In academic papers and doctoral dissertations in dance studies, the keywords of research topics influenced by the pandemic era were corona, online, YouTube, new media, digital, media, identity, and convergence.
First, the keyword online and corona can be identified in academic papers, which has affected the performing arts that used to be face-to-face with field performance, and interest in online classes and performances seems to be growing in traditional methods.
Second, you can check the keywords of online and YouTube in the master's thesis, which seems to be various attempts and preparations in the changed environment in the dance field as online performances or classes are conducted using the YouTube system through online streaming.
Third, the Pandemic. thesis identifies keywords for new media, digital, media, identity, and convergence, which are thought to be conducted in dance and other academic areas, content development using technology, and interdisciplinary research.

Due to the drastic development of culture, society and technology, modern people are pursuing psychologically, physically and mentally harmonious state for the quality of one's personal life. Especially, the concept of health has been expanded to the system of life that elements of in the present COVID-19, which includes elements in various fields as a state of great significance in our whole life as the most important condition and core elements constituting our life.
This study was conducted aiming at activating Five Elements Meridian Point Qi Dance as a new movement of Korean dance therapy composed based on the theory of meridian system and meridian point of Korean medicine in the untact era. As a converged study of dance and Korean medicine, this is a study on the utilizability of detailed qi dance program to be used at the site of dance therapy which was discovered in the course of carrying out researches on the new approach of dance therapy having views on the similarity of philosophical background between Korean dance and Korean medicine.
If Five Elements Meridian Point Qi Dance is activated and become popular as health promotion program and health movement, its future value will lead to more varied and positive influence on the promotion of health and life. As we enter the untact era due to social, cultural and technical development, interest in health promotion and healthy span has increased gradually, so many systematic and scientific researches suited to the characteristics of Korean people shall be carried out continuously and settle down as promotion, program and movement of health.

The logic of metapraxis means that the practical activity of education virtually is an effort to establish the concept of metapraxis and the legitimacy of the concept of metapraxis is guaranteed by the practical activity. 'Metapraxis' translated as 'meta-practice' is a discourse revealed at the very point. It is concluded that the historical and theoretical grounds for metapraxis include the following: Dewey's emphasis on a life as experience; Huizinga's emphasis on a life as play; Plato's emphasis on the dynamic of Idea that understands a being as the objective of education; and mind training viewed through Doctrine of the Mean.
Based on this study that introduced the concept of metapraxis and theoretical grounds for support for that, it would be necessary to conduct a practical case study of the design and operation of the curriculum of dance education as mind cultivation based on the theory of metapraxis in the future.

This study aims to anticipate the trend of dance performance in the post-COVID-19 era based on the concept of 'liveness' which is originated from contemporary performance studies, and consider necessary preparations for dance society in Korea.
'Liveness' has two dimensions of temporal aspect and spatial aspect. 'Classical liveness' satisfied temporal simultaneity and spatial co-presence. With the development of media technology, the concept of liveness has expanded to 'mediated liveness through media technology' and 'mediated liveness through communication with audience'. Before COVID-19 crisis, the direction of liveness expansion was towards the ease of temporal simultaneity while maintaining the spatial co-presence. However, COVID-19 extremely limits the availability of spatial co-presence due to prevention of epidemic. Thus, in the post-COVID-19 ear, the expansion of liveness is expected to ease spatial co-presence. Additionally, it is necessary to satisfy spectatorship in order to realize the true 'liveness'. In order to prepare for this trend, the dance society in Korea needs to invest in online studio, develop online communication skills, and select appropriate dance performance for online.

This study aims to analyze the research studies regarding to direction of the college dance education in the 4th industrial revolution by using meta-analysis method. This study found that first, the curriculum should focus on convergent subject, video education, emotional education, creative subject, and field related education. Second, inclusive education, collaborative learning, and techology-based education should be used for educational method. Third, various educational content and technology- based educaional environment should be developed for future educaion. Therefore, the college dance education should consider continuous development especially in curriculum, educational method, and educational enviornment.

In modern society, as interest in exercise replacement therapy for well-being and health increased, research on health respiration and breathing methods and various exercise replacement therapies began to emerge. Therefore, I intend to develop and present a technique as a way to breathe healthily and exercise therapy through body movement. Qimu has a theoretical background from the perspective of oriental philosophy, oriental medicine, and physiology, and attempts to present a movement for natural circulation according to the flow of chi rather than a general movement.

The purpose of this study is to provide online content for national dances of each country performed in Korea for 20 years so that everyone can share them in the thesaurus method and activate them. The performances so far are 220 ethnic dances from Korea, Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Mongolia, Cambodia, Tibet, and Vietnam. The implemented website will be able to publicize the excellence of our culture, and it will be able to provide the opportunity to understand the world culture not only in Korea but also in all countries of the world by producing cultural contents through traditional cultural contents and tourism commercialization. This will contribute to enhancing the cultural understanding of the international community by establishing an academic foundation for promoting traditional culture and ethnic dance research and promoting exchanges among nations around the world.

Interactive dance platform is the web site where dance performance videos and materials can be posted nonlinearly. Dancers will be able to post various elements of dance just by conveniently placing content on already established web sites. Audiences is free to watch the dance and materials they are interested in by accessing the web platform without time and space constraints. Therefore, the interactive dance platform is valuable as an approach that can create a new wave in the dance industry without the performance style or budget innovation that existing dancers have adhered to.

Results of this study are as follows: First, entertainment experience and educational experience didn't had a significant effect on satisfaction of the line dance participants. Second, escapist experience and aesthetic experience has a significant effect on satisfaction of the line dance participants.

This study approached an online dance class at a graduate school of education experienced by an elementary school teacher with Bourdieu's theory of cultural capital and explored its significance. The research results can be summarized as three dimensions. First, it was possible to improve the inner capability of teachers who should teach expressive activities through a cultural understanding of the art of dance. Second, it was possible to foster students' perceptions needed for the enjoyment of culture and their capability for instruction by understanding the vast genres and characteristics of dance macroscopically. Third, it became the chance to form habitus for a new culture as a teacher and as an individual and to promote the expansion of the individual's life through that. It was suggested that the utilization of online course is a methodology that can overcome the problem of the education time extremely insufficient in the curricula of universities of education and graduate schools of education, which are institutions for the training and reeducation for elementary school teachers, which can be utilized as a methodology for obtaining cultural capital. It is judged that this is because of concrete and rich contents, the convenience that individuals can repetitively watch the parts needed for them, and the temporality that they can bring up and learn anytime when necessary.

The purpose of this study is to create academic framework to understand the reality and value of dance literacy education as a convergence education and to seek strategies to practice it. The research procedure was conducted from July 2016 to June 2019. The key findings are as follows: First, dance literacy education emphasizes practical knowledge and has a convergent characteristic that can be called academic integration. Second, the development of interdisciplinary education programs was categorized into subjects by deriving related elements, common elements and contents between art and other studies. Third, the educational effect of each of the five components of Dance Literacy could be specified. This paper will be the basic data that can promote the quality improvement of art and dance literacy as a convergence education, and can provide the typical curriculum framework of dance education.
