Bandarban is a hidden paradise in Bangladesh away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Though not developed for tourism activities yet, today or tomorrow it will be one of the heavens for eco-tourism. Tourism is seasonal in pattern in Bandarban. Proper management of available tourism resource can ensure poverty alleviation and economic development of the destination. From this paper it was found that Bandarban is a destination for young people as it attracts them for adventure tourism. Almost all of them visit Bandarban without taking any service from tour operator or travel agent. Most of them travel to Bandarban with their friend circle. Purpose of their visit is adventure (70%) and leisure and recreation (26%). This study highlighted the current scenario of Bandarban, identified the tourism resources as mean of economic development, enlisted the zones of tourism development in Bandarban, SWOT analysis and developed value chain mapping in order to uplift the tourism business and community of the destination. Finally, the study tried to identify the huge potentials vis-à-vis the limitations of developing tourism sector in that hilly region of Bandarban in Bangladesh.

1Tourism Service Encounter in the Cross-Cultural Context

This paper explores the respective rules of behaviour of international tourists from China, France and the USA and Vietnamese service providers. The Principal Components Analysis method is used to identify and group the distinctive rules of behaviour of tourists and hosts with a view to providing an enhanced understanding of tourists-hosts interaction during the service encounter in cross-cultural settings. It presents the findings of a self-administered survey to 235 Chinese, 180 French and 170 American tourists visiting Vietnam. The rules of behaviour guiding Western and Asian respondents were found to have more differences than similarities. The differences impact upon host and guest inter-cultural interactions during service encounter.
The research has both practical and academic significance. From the theoretical perspective, this study provides an enhancing understanding of Argyle et al.'s study on cross-cultural variations in the rules which determine relationships. This instrument has previously been applied in the field of sociology, psychology and marketing. In the present case, it is used with some modifications to measure hosts-guests cross-cultural interactions in the service encounter and the associated insights should be useful for tourism researchers. The implications for tourism industry management destination and marketers are presented. It is recommended that the Vietnamese tourism authorities target international tourism markets more precisely and improve the quality of service provision.

Grey tourism market is important to the tourism industry. The seniors travelers are traveling more frequently, going longer distances, staying away longer, spending more money. China is unique in its aging trend, more than 30% of the Chinese population is expected to be aged 60 or older in 2050. The primary objectives of this study were to determine the travel motivations of mainland Chinese seniors' travelers and to discover what variables are influential in explaining the variances of the motivations. Using factor analysis, the "knowledge-seeking" factor and "cleanliness & safety" factor appeared to be the most important push and pull motivations, respectively. Subsequent regression analysis indicated that health status and positive and negative emotional state of seniors significantly contribute to accounting for the travel motivations of mainland Chinese seniors.

This paper reflects about Rural Tourism Planning and infrastructure development in remote areas of Uttrakhnad. The intended objectives of rural tourism is to control rural migration, create new livelihood option for the villagers, and Conservation & Restoration of the Temple precincts when integrated with other facilities like the approach road and sanitation and services as part of the concerned subproject proposal, is to develop this area as an attractive destination for cultural and rural tourism. Under this Project, thrust will be to promote village tourism as the primary tourism product to spread tourism and its socio-economic benefits to rural and new geographic regions. Key geographic regions have been identified for development and promotion of Rural Tourism. The implementation would be done through a Convergence Committee headed by the District Magistrate. Activities like improving the natural environment, hygiene, socio-economic status, infrastructure etc. would be eligible for assistance.

According to the 2011 census, there are over 26 nationalities and national and ethnic groups in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which makes it a highly multi-ethnic environment. Each ethnic group nurtures a distinctive culture and tradition, which are recognized as having a highly significant potential for tourism development in Vojvodina. This paper presents the results of a survey conducted with the aim of determining the activities of tourism organizations and travel agencies that are focused on implementing achievements of these cultures into a tourism product. The survey included 27 tourism organizations and 25 travel agencies from the territory of Vojvodina. The results indicate a high level of interest of tourism organizations in promoting national minorities living in their municipalities. On the other hand, travel agencies do not have many travel arrangements that promote the culture of national minorities of Vojvodina.
