The literature has shown that social support enhances people's health and quality of life. However, in the Korean context―where a strong negative stigma is attached to single parents―building a social support is a major challenge for single parents. To provide social support to single mothers in Korea, our study focuses on a one-to-one peer support program provided by a single-parents association in Korea that matches volunteer mentors to volunteer mentees. We conducted focus group interviews with 19 voluntary divorced or widowed single mothers who participated in the program and applied a theme-based analysis. The results reveal: 1) women's motivations for program participation, 2) what activities occurred during the program, 3) self-reported experiences and outcomes, and 4) participants' suggestions for improving the program. The study is the first to examine a one-to-one peer support program among single parents in Korea, and it provides organizations and groups that want to design, develop, and evaluate a one-to-one peer support program with the conceptual basis and specific examples to do so effectively.

This study was purposed to explore the experiences of web-based fathering education program for the fathers of adolescent children. The data were collected by in-depth interviews with 8 participants. The 8 participants were the fathers of adolescent children. They were invited to participate in the study through a purpose-sampling method. The collected data were analyzed by a constant comparative analysis.
The findings of the first question were categorized into the following two themes: (1) by his own voluntary needs, (2) by recommendation of others. The findings of the second question were categorized into the four themes: (1) chances of a new realization, (2) improvement of parenting competence and parenting efficacy as a father, (3) increase in satisfaction with life, (4) enhancement of satisfaction with family relationship. The findings of the third question were categorized into the two themes: (1) feedback on curriculum and operations, (2) feedback on contents of program. This study has a practical significance for improving fathering education program for the fathers of adolescent children in terms of curriculum, operation, and contents.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of children's Pre-school school readiness and academic performance related factors on children's academic accomplishment during the lower grades in elementary school period. This study used data from Panel Study of Korea children(PSKC) 7th∼10th survey [Data file and code book] by Korea Insititute of Childcare and Education(KICCE). They are 320 cases out of 2150 total cases, eliminate which have a missing values, for analysis. The results and proposal are as follows:
First, Children's school adjustment factor has positive continuous effects on children's academic accomplishment during the lower grades in elementary school period. While, the factors like Pre-school school readiness, child's Self-Esteem and father's level of education have positive effects only in the first year of entrance into school. Executive function difficulty factor has meaningful negative effects until the 2nd grade. Second, As a result of analyze correlation of the lower grades in elementary school students' academic accomplishment and school adjustment sub-factors, academic performance adjustment sub-factor is highly correlated with academic accomplishment. Also, correlation among the school adjustment sub-factors, academic performance adjustment and peer adjustment have high correlation than other's. This study found that the lower grades in elementary school children's academic accomplishment is as higher as their school adjustment level. these school adjustment is as higher as their academic performance adjustment and prosociality skill level.

The birth of a child is a life-changing experience, but little is known about how it changes wives' marital satisfaction and what explains any such change. This study addressed these questions by using data from the first and sixth waves of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families. The author selected married women aged 44 or under at the sixth wave who also participated in the first wave and maintained their marital relationship between the waves. Based on the women who had valid responses to the variables(N=1,250), the author first found that having a child and having additional children were significantly associated with a decline in marital satisfaction. Second, the associations were fully mediated by a decline in leisure activities that the wives shared with their husbands. Third, a decrease in husbands' participation in housework also mediated the associations between childbirth and wives' marital dissatisfaction. The results suggest that setting aside time for shared leisure activities and increasing husbands' participation in housework after childbirth help married women avoid marital declines.

The purpose of this study is to research the adoption experience and post-service needs of adolescents in overseas adoptees. This study is a qualitative survey of nine overseas adoptees. The beneficiaries have confirmed the adoption experience and post-adoption service needs of teenagers.
The results of this study will be the basic data for developing services to help psychosocial adaptation of teenager adoptees in the current growth process. The study identified two upper categories, five subcategories, and 20 central themes. In other words, the two upper categories are psychosocial adaptation and post-adoption service experiences and needs, and the five lower categories are daily life, race-related issues, adoption issues, post-adoption service use, and post-adoption service needs. Among them, the daily life category is classified into four small categories: life satisfaction, parent and family relationship, school life and career, and friendship. Three central themes within two subcategories were derived.

This study was conducted for the purpose of research to identify subjective perception types for life Respect and to analyze their characteristics. The first step in the implementation process of this study was to secure a statement by conducting literature research, survey and interview step by step to establish Q group. In the second stage, Q-sample was over the course of four Validation. In the third stage, a total of 60 P samples were confirmed, and Q-sorting was conducted to the selected P samples. In step 5, the factors analysis was conducted using the QUANL-PC program.
As a result, there are five types of recognition for life respect. After naming reflecting the interpretation of characteristics by type, it was confirmed through expert content validity. Content validity was made on a five-point scale, and it went through the revision-revision process in consideration of the naming by type suggested by the subjects. The final type of destructive naming is type 1 'common sense non-severe', type 2 'active human-centered', type 3 'objective tolerant', type 4 'natural circularism' and type 5 'Social responsibility type. Through this study, we can see that the recognition of life respect needs to reflect the values and dignity of life respect, as well as active practice, the coexistence of nature and human beings, and social phenomena.

The purposes of this research are to examine and verify the effects of family health and infants ego-resilience on peer interaction. Total 523 questionnaires of the mothers and homeroom teachers were analyzed for infants of the ages 3~5 who are attending in day care center located in Jeonbuk area.
As a result, first, for general characteristics of family health, infants ego-resilience, and peer interaction, family health was higher than infants' ego-resilience and peer interaction. Second, family health and infant ego resilience showed a significant positive correlation with peer interaction. Third, ego elasticity of infants was found to have a significant effect on peer interaction. Only values and goal sharing among the sub-factors of family health affected the hindrance. This research confirmed that infants' ego-resilience made an effect on peer interaction and implies that infants' ego-resilience can be basic data to promote peer interaction.

This study identifies the relationship between the character and leadership of young children in an empirical way so as to offer basic data needed for the enhancement of children's leadership. To that end, through child education schools, 500 mothers whose children were 4 and/or 5 years old were surveyed. A final collected 427 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed.
The findings of this study indicate: First, the character and leadership of children differed according to sex and age, indicating that females had a higher level of character and leadership than males. Second, the leadership of the lower 30% children and the upper 30% children in terms of character level was analyzed, revealing that the leadership of upper 30% was higher than the lower 30%. Third, the relationship between the character and leadership of children was analyzed, indicating that the sub-factors of character of children had a positive relationship with the sub-factors of leadership. Fourth, among the sub-factors of the character of children, personal value and social value had a significant effect on the leadership of children, which confirmed that the character of children could have an effect on the leadership of children.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Child care center director's coaching ability on teacher's psychological well-being. To achieve this research objective, child care teachers working at day care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were distributed through mail and direct visits. A total of 270 were retrieved and used as this research material for the questionnaire. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that the director's coaching capacity and psychological welfare, recognized by child care teachers, showed an unusually high level of awareness. Second, there was a significant static correlation between all factors except the relationship between the autonomy of psychological welfare sense and the performance evaluation of coaching. Third, multiple regression analyses were conducted to verify the effect of daycare center director's coaching ability on teacher's psychological well-being, and the performance evaluation and relationship.
