남성혐오표현의 유형을 파악하고 그 사용 양상과 의미를 밝히는 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. 이 연구는 남성혐오표현, 즉 남성에 대한 혐오의 정서나 태도가 담긴 언어적 표현을 연구 대상으로 하였으며, ‘워마드(Womad)’ 사이트를 중심으로 인터넷에서 확인되는 남성혐오표현을 조사하였다. 남성혐오표현은 남성에 대한 혐오의 정서나 태도를 언어적으로 실현하는 방식에 따라 남성 지시형 혐오표현과 남성 대입형 혐오표현의 두 가지 유형으로 구분할 수 있다. 이중 남성 자체를 지시하는 혐오표현, 그중에서도 남성 일반을 지시하는 혐오표현이 높은 빈도로 사용되었으며, 남성 대입형 혐오표현 중 남성 성기를 대입한 혐오표현도 자주 관찰되었다. 남성혐오표현의 사용 양상과 의미 확인을 통해 다음과 같은 몇 가지 특징이 발견되었다. 남성혐오표현이 목표로 하는 혐오의 대상은 한국 남성과 한국 사회이며, 남성혐오표현에는 남성혐오라는 분명한 의도가 드러난다. 남성혐오라는 의도의 실현을 위해 다양한 유형·형태·기원의 남성혐오표현이 존재하며, 이들 남성혐오표현들은 한 문맥 내에서 큰 제약 없이 중복적으로 사용되는 경향이 있다. 남성 지시형과 남성 대입형 혐오표현은 사용 문맥과 의미에서 차이를 보이는데, 이는 두 유형의 본질적 속성과 관련된다. 남성혐오표현의 두 유형은 남성혐오표현의 생성 기제를 설명하는 데 활용될 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to figure out the types of the hatred expression for male, the use aspects of the hatred expression for male, and the meanings of the hatred expression for male. The object of this study is the language expressions with the emotion and the attitude of hatred for male, that is to say the hatred expression for male. the investigation of hatred expression for male centered around ‘Womad’ site. You distinguish between two types of calling-hatred expression and substituting-hatred expression, based on the way of Linguistic reality method of the emotion and the attitude of hatred for male. Calling male-hatred expression is used as a high frequency in the calling-hatred expression. The substituting virilia-hatred expression is used as a high frequency in the substituting-hatred expression. There are some character of the hatred expression for male. The targets of the hatred expression for male is Korean male and Korean society. The hatred expression for male has clear intention of the hatred for male. There are many hatred expression for male based on the various types, forms, origins. The hatred expressions for male are used repeatably in the context without restriction. The calling-hatred expression and the substituting-hatred expression have differing contexts and meanings result from an intrinsic attribute. This two types can be used for the explanation of create mechanism in hatred expression for male.
