Generally significant reinforcement is used in nuclear power plant structures and may cause potential problems when concrete is poured. In particular pouring concrete into structural member joint area is more difficult than other areas since the joint area is very congested due to the crossed bars and the embedded plates, The purpose of this study is to solve these problems by applying Gr.80(550MPa) shear bars to containment structures of nuclear power plant. In order to apply them to containment structures, it is necessary to change ASME-CC code (ASME Sec.Ⅲ Div.2). The structural performance tests of wall & beam have been done to compare Gr.80(550Mpa) with Gr.60(420MPa) shear bars. The test results and code change proposal were presented to ASME-CC Committee last year and the discussion for code change will be expected to proceed in the near future.

This study investigated the effect of fly ash content on the isothermal hydration heat of cement pastes. Two different pastes with fly ash content were studied to cure at 35°C. The hydration heat flow deceleration stage of slurry was simulated and compared by Jander Equation and Ginstling-Brounshtein Equation. The results show that Jander Equation and Ginstling-Brounshtein Equation have certain defects in the modeling of the deceleration stage of the heat flow of cement fly ash paste, and the fitted curve can not describe the deceleration stage well.

In order to examine the adhesion characteristics of road pavement according to environmental conditions, the freezing time of cement mortar and the adhesion performance between ice and pavement were evaluated depending on the presence or absence of polymer and water repellent. As a result of measuring the ice formation time, it was found that there was no delay when a polymer was added, but the complete freezing time was delayed when a water repellent was added. As a result of measuring the strength of ice adhesion, it was found that the bonding force between ice and the surface of the test body was greatly generated in the test body without water repellent. In the case of a test specimen to which a water repellent was added, it was found that the bonding strength between the test specimen surface and ice was reduced.

Carbon dioxide emissions in the construction sector account for 38% of all industries, and environmental destruction is occurring due to indiscriminate use of natural resources. The purpose of this study is to develop by-product aggregate Non-Sintered Cement(NSC) that can replace sand used as natural aggregate and Portland cement . Therefore, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag, Type C Fly Ash and Type F Fly Ash are used to replace cement, and water granulated ferro-nickel slag(FNS) is used to replace aggregate. The flow, compressive strength and flexural strength of the formulation using sand as an aggregate and the formulation replacing 100% FNS were compared. As a result of the experiment, the formulation using FNS had higher overall strength than the formulation using sand, and as the substitution rate of Type C fly ash increased, the strength was the best. Formulation using FNS is more fluid than using sand. Through this study, we show the possibility of 100% substitution of FNS and its applicability to secondary concrete products of by-product aggregate NSC.

Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) is a blended cement using limestone powder as SCMs (Supplementary Cementitious Materials), and is currently regarded as an essential means for achieving carbon neutral in the cement industry. This study was performed to investigate the fresh and hardened properties of cement mortar according to the fineness and replacement ratio of limestone powder. As a result, the compressive strength of mortar used high blaine limestone powder were equivalent level of that of OPC.

In order to improve the strength degradation of the cement-based material to which strong alkaline liquid red mud was added, the liquid red mud was neutralized with sulfuric acid and added to the cement paste to examine the mechanical properties according to the amount added. As a result of measuring the compressive strength, the strength was higher when the red mud was neutralized with sulfuric acid and added to the cement paste than the cement paste to which the liquid red mud was added. As a result of hydration heat measurement, when red mud was neutralized with sulfuric acid and added to the cement paste, an initial strength higher than that of liquid red mud was expressed.

In this study, glued laminated timber were manufactured by different types of adhesives for larch and spruce. Adhesives used to manufacture glued laminated timber include resorcinol resin, phenol resorcinol resin, melamine resin, and polyurethane. The char thickness and char rate according to the type of adhesive forglued laminated timber were analyzed. Melamine, resorcinol, and polyurethane showed excellent fire resistance performance in that order.

There is a limit to preventing various types of safety accidents in advance at construction sites. Even for buildings of the same total floor area, it is expected that the more complex the building shape or the higher the number of floors, the higher the probability of a safety accident. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the effect of the shape of a building on safety accidents using safety accident data generated during actual construction. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of building shape on safety accidents. As a result, the R2 value of shape factor and safety accident was 0.901, and the R2 value of construction difficulty and safety accident was 0.944. In the future, the results of this study will be used as basic data for improving safety management related systems.

Tile defects in apartment houses are caused by a combination of various factors. These factors cannot be specified, and it is difficult to determine the exact cause because a number of causes are intertwined. In addition, because the climate of Korea is different by season, the coefficient of thermal expansion between materials is different, which is a major cause of tile defects. Therefore, this study analyzed the difference between the construction location and the period of defect occurrence according to the types of tile defects caused by environmental differences between indoor and outdoor environments. Two-way ANOVA was used, indoor and outdoor spaces were selected, and defect types were selected accordingly to show the difference in the occurrence period of each defect.

The construction industry has more safety accidents than other industries. Although there have been more attempts to reduce safety hazards in the industry such as the enforcement of the "Serious Accidents Punishment Act (SAPA)", construction accident has not been reduced enough. In this study, analysis of safety risk factors has been made through Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA)-based topic modeling. Risk analysis in construction site would be improved with natural language processing and topic modeling.

Vibration occur at construction sites due to various causes. Starting from the movement of heavy equipments and construction vehicles, the machine crushing of embedded obstacles and rocks creates not only noise but also vibration. Furthermore, the blasting of rocks tops the other causes. In this paper, the measurements of various vibration occurring at the construction site are made and analyzed to determine the magnitude of vibration upon different sources of vibration. The results showed the relative magnitude of vibration for the site studied.

Recently, freezing index of frost penetration depth estimation used in Korea is applied according to the standard, published by MOLIT in 2003. However, it is difficult to consider can not be determined to standard reflects weather conditions in accordance with the current climate warming or abnormally high temperature. Also the temperature should be considered local variables because heavy local gap. Therefore, this study is through the freezing index presented in MOLIT`s code by calculating the frost penetration depth determining whether the adequacy and conducted a study to apply in the field. As a result, when the Elevation 100m to standard in Incheon frost penetration depth is found to be 50.8cm.

Formwork accounts for 10% of the total construction cost and 30~40% of the framework cost, which is a fairly large part. Various system forms were developed for improved economic feasibility and constructability of formwork and for reduced construction duration. In general, the price of system forms per unit area is higher than that of the conventional method, yet the total construction cost can be reduced through higher reusability and constructability. However, if the reusability of forms is excessively increased to cut down the material cost, it may increase the construction duration, which will result in cost increase. On the other hand, if the reusability is decreased for reduction of construction duration, it may lead to cost increase caused by excessive input of materials. To solve such a problem, an algorithm for simplified reuse planning that meets the requirements of construction duration, cost, quality and safety is required. In this regard, the study intends to perform a fundamental research for development of reuse planning automation algorithms on system forms that are used on girders and beams.

Green Frame is a Rahmen structure made of composite precast concrete members. According to the concrete design code, a lower rebar of precast concrete girder, should be extended to the inner precast concrete column. However, such extension of lower rebar may sharply reduce its constructability. To satisfy the criteria, the connection and anchorage of beam rebar should be taken into consideration, yet it is difficult to use lapping as it is not easy to ensure enough space when Green Frame method is adopted. To solve this, a new method of lower rebar connection and anchorage was developed, and this study is intended to review economic feasibility prior to applying the method developed onto sites. The study result can be used as basic data for selection of the optimal joint and anchorage method for lower rebar of the green frame construction.

To minimize construction of nuclear facility, it is required to reduce reinforcing bar amount and solve reinforcing bar concentration and for this, it is necessary to develop appication design technology and modular of high strength reinforcing bar. Hence, KHNP reduces excessive reinforcing bar amount which can cause possibility of poor construction of concrete through design standard development and modular of nuclear facility structure using high strength reinforcing bar to raise economics and has its purpose to maintain high-level safety and durability as they are. After reviewing the rebar drawing of the NPP structures and performing the mock-up test, the rebar modulation method in the various area of the NPP Structure has been established.

In this research, the application of repair methods of water leakage cracks using self-healing technologies for subway tunnels is presented. In order to apply crack self-healing water stop agents and quick setting agents in subway tunnels, laboratory and field tests were performed based on various previous researches. Especially, this study focused on development of crack repair materials and their new repair methods. Therefore, various repair materials were examined for new repair materials with self-healing capability applied to crack sealing method and to patching repair method.

In manufacturing industry, image scanning technique has made enormous progress in past decades. 3D models have been also very important to continuously monitor the related spatial information for freeform buildings. The process of shape making of 3D scanning is as follows: mesh surface segmentation, NURBS surface generation, and parametric solid model generation. We will review the process and applying process. Especially in the construction industry, 3D data collection by laser scanning has become an high quality 3D models. Therefore, in this research, we have an effort to review construction of reverse design process for freeform envelope using 3D scanning. The technology enables many 3D shape engineering and design parameterization of reverse engineering in the construction site.

Building exterior wall`s energy loss is very high rate comparing to all part of a buildings. And it account for upper 40% of cooling and heating load. So many studies conducted improving insulation performance of building`s exterior, appeared about sandwich insulation wall which could be gaining merit of traditional insulation method those are exterior insulation and interior insulation. In this study, we inform structural performance of sandwich insulation wall for RC wall. For this, first, we define each wall`s role and design sandwich insulation wall. At last, analyze structural performance of sandwich insulation wall. This study can contribute to apply it safely where side wall which toilet, stair area, etc.

The CFT(Concrete Filled Tube) system has been developed to behave well in a structural performance such as stiffness, stress, ductility, fire resistance that is derived from its mechanical advantages of composite structure. There were number of studies about unprotected CFT columns for improving their fire resistance through reinforcing bars or plates being placed inside the steel tube. It was also known that reinforcing plates of flat type need stiffeners in a certain distance to avoid their buckling failure so it cost as much as their using consequentially. This paper is planned to test the work of beam elements attached inner side of CFT depending on its shape. More discussions on beam`s design could be followed after some fire tests accordingly conducted within this project.
