The combustion characteristics of sewage sludge have been investigated in a manufactured incinerate reactor. Two sludge samples that abolished by two difference site are applied to the experience. Heating value of sludges are 2600~3600ca1/g and there are about 80wt% moisture contents. Moisture content of the sludge directly affects the heating value of the sludge and the flue gas composition. When reaction time goes to 10 minutes with 800℃, the combustion efficiencies were found to almost finished as few concentration of CO. Flue gas composition were CO, CO_2, NOx, SOx and HCI gas. It was found that the SOx and NOx concentrations in flue gas were increased as high temperture and long reaction time. Especially the SOx concentration was higher to relatively.

Cellulose is one of abundant resource on earth and referred to as "Biomass". It is biodegradable and renewable resource of the future because petroleum-based plastics can be replaced by cellulose. However, neat cellulose has not good reactivity because of strong hydrogen bond. In this study, to make better reactivity of cellulose, cellulose was pretreated such as sonication and water activation. Neat cellulose was dissolved in lithium chloride/N,N-dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) system. Fatty acid and acetic anhydride was used to prepare cellulose mixed ester. Reaction was run in 8 h at 120℃. Pretreated cellulose was studied using Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed improvement of synthesis efficiency through morphology, structure and thermal properties of pretreated cellulose.

Isosorbide based PET (PEIT) is interest in polymer which has isosorbide monomer that is renewable sources such as corn. In addition, PEIT has good chemical resistance. However, there is drawback which is low mechanical properties as increasing the isosorbide content. In this study, polycarbonate used to make up for drawback of mechanical properties of PEIT and chemical resistance of Polycarbonate (PC). The effect of polycarbonate of blends on morphology, thermal properties and miscibility were investigated. The compatibility of blends was investigated by DSC. The thermal properties of blends were performed by TGA. The morphology of blends was investigated to evaluate the miscibility by FE-SEM.

Cellulose is a renewable carbon resource as well as an alternative material to replace petroleum- based plastics. Cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), one of cellulose esters, is resistant to ultraviolet rays, has a lower moisture absorption than cellulose acetate and has an extremely high impact strength. However, it is susceptible to heat and has low flowability in the extrusion process. Poly (ethylene terephthalate) is a lightweight plastic that can be made into a number of different products and has impact resistant properties as well. In this work, Poly (ethylene terephthalate)(PET) and Cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) were melt blended using twin screw extruder in order to improve properties of bio-based polymer and to enhance processability. The phase morphology of PET/CAB alloys was investigated by Field Emission Scanning Electronic Microscopy (FE-SEM). The compatibility of alloys was analyzed by Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA).

The PEDOT nanomaterials were fabricated by oxidation polymerization and the MnO2 domains on the PEDOT were formed by redox deposition. The PEDOT/MnO2 nanomaterials accelerate neurite outgrowth in proportion to the dose of the nanomaterials, and the MnO2 domains play an essential role in enhancement effects on differentiation. Futhermore, the nanomaterials were applied as a transducer for label-free real-time monitoring of exocytosed catecholamines from PC12 cells. The dual-functionalized PEDOT/MnO2 nanomaterials can be used in tissue engineering related to the development and monitoring of mammalian nervous systems.

본 연구에서는 MnOOH를 열처리한 후 나트륨을 층간삽입하여 성공적으로 Na0.44MnO2 나노막대를 합성하였고 이를 cathode로, 전도성고분자-탄소나노복합물을 anode로 이용하여 수계나트륨이온 배터리를 구성하였다. XRD와 TEM을 통해 각 전극의 구조확인 및 CV를 이용하여 전기적 특성을 확인하였다.

High performance count-current flow in packedtower design. Column that packed with Montz packing regular and dumped packing with Pall Ring, Hiflow Ring and Hackette have been represented high performance in vaccum rectification and absorption. The new correlating of these relationship based on the numerous results has been developed for process calculation and design. The results of laboratory or experimental pilot plant can be adopted directly for scale-up.

With an increasing demand for energy, the importance of nuclear fusion energy is increasing. Hydrogen isotopes are a main fuel for nuclear fusion reactors. Metal hydride former offers a safe and convenient method for hydrogen isotope storage. The storage of hydrogen isotopes is carried out by absorption and desorption in a metal hydride bed. These reactions require heat removal and supply respectively. Accordingly, the rapid storage and delivery of hydrogen isotopes are enabled by rapid cooling and heating of the metal hydride bed. In this study, a vertical-type hydrogen isotope storage bed is manufactured to enhance the cooling performance. We present the experimental details of the cooling of the bed.

이산화탄소 고정화를 위한 목적으로 집섬(gypsum) 또는 Mercedes 반응으로 알려진 석고 반응에서 주요 반응 변수인 pH 및 온도 변화에 따른 탄산화율에 대하여 고찰하였다. 산업부산물인 석고와 이산화탄소를 원료로 암모니아와의 반응에서 생성되는 탄산칼슘과 황산암모늄의 공업적 양산을 위한 기술적, 경제적 측면에서의 고려와 생산의 효율성증대 나아가 공정 개선을 위한 기술적 측면에 대하여 다루었다. 이러한 광물탄산화 과정에서 반응성 및 탄산화 효율에 미치는 제 요인에 따른 반응 특성과 탄산화율을 평가하기 위한 분석법 적용 및 평가 등에 대하여 논하였다.

유류 저장소에서의 유출이나 유류 오염 사고 등으로 환경에 유입된 휘발성 저급탄화수소류의 정확한 오염도 평가를 위한 분석법 적용에 대하여 논하였다. 토양의 성상이나 매질, 수분 함유 정도 등에 따라 휘발성 유류들의 함량비는 큰 차이를 나타내며, 오염도 결과에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 추출결과는 추출 방법이나 해당 방법에서의 추출 조건에 따라서도 크게 변화한다. 따라서 휘발성 유류의 분석에 주로 적용되는 전처리 농축 방법들을 다양한 매질의 오염 토양 시료에 적용했을 때 결과의 변화와 추출 분석 결과에 미치는 제요인들에 대하여 평가하였으며, 단기 소멸되는 휘발성 유류의 특성을 고려하여 몇 가지 벤젠유도체물질과 산화 첨가제의 결과로부터 전체 휘발성유류의 오염도를 파악하고자 하였다.

The absorption between hydrogen isotopes and storage materials (ZrCo or uranium) is an exothermic reaction. The exothermic reaction characteristics upon the hydriding of hydrogen isotopes with ZrCo and depleted uranium (DU) were investigated. The temperature increase due to a hydriding exothermic reaction during the powderization of DU was bigger than that of ZrCo. However, as the hydriding amount increases, the temperature increase owing to the hydriding reaction of the two metals was very similar.

To enhance the antiabrasion property, various lubricant, such as montan wax, ester wax and sasol wax, crystal wax and PE modified wax were added to monomer casting(MC) nylon 6. They showed an excellent abrasion resistance, especially in a 3wt% ratio MC nylon 6. The addition of these lubricants resulted in increasing the ten times abrasion resistance. In addition, their tensile strength increased from 810 to 850 kg_f/㎡ by addition of 0.08wt% of whisker as a reinforcing agent. And also, their molecular weight, modulus, elongation, impact strength and hardness exhibited 70,000~150,000, 2,500 kg_f/㎡, 35%, 25 kgcm/㎠ and 115, respectively.

A porous hollow fiber membrane was modified with Diethanolamine(DEtA) group by radiation-induced graft polymerization and subsequent chemical modifications. Adsorption behavior of anions was investigated by permeating anion solutions  through the membrane. The binary anions(NO_3^- and SO_4^-2) were transported to the DEtA group by permeating the aqueous solutions. Negligible diffusional mass-transfer resistance of NO_3^- and SO_4^2- ions to the DEtA group and instantaneous displacement of the sorbed NO_3^- with SO_4^-2 ions were demonstrated in the permeation mode.

Non-viral gene carriers continue to attract a great deal of interest due to advantageous safety profile. Among the non-viral gene carriers, cationic liposomes or synthetic gene carriers are efficient DNA carriers in vitro, but there in vivo applications are greatly hampered because of their low bioavailability. On the other hand, chitosan, a natural cationic polysaccharide, is a candidate non-viral vector for gene delivery because of its high positive charges and low cytotoxicity.  In this work, AWBP-PEG-LMWSC was synthesized by conjugation the arterial wall binding peptide (AWBP), a specific targeting peptide, to the end of PEGylation low molecular water soluble chitosan (LMWSC) as a gene carrier to target artery wall cells. Chatacters of the synthesized AWBP-PEG-LMWSC were analyzed by measuring FT-IR, ^1H-NMR, zeta-potentiometer, atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmittance electro microscopy (TEM). And the physical and biochemical properties of AWBP-PEG-LMWSC/pDNA complexes will be also investigated.

Cobalt nanoparticles were synthesized by the hydrogen reduction of cobalt chloride in the gas phase. Concentration of CoCl_2, Reaction temperature, and residence time were chosen as key experimental variables for the control of the particle size. Cobalt nanoparticles ranged from 50 to 90nm in average particle diameter were produced by through all the experiments. As the CoC1_2 concentration in the flame increased, the average particle diameter increased. Average particle diameter increased with the increase of reaction temperature. Smaller particles were produced with decrease of the residence time of reactant in the reaction zone.

The natural dye substances largely consist of plant, animal and mineral materials, which we can easily and naturally be obtained all around us. It has been widely used all around the world for numerous years. Indigo, as a blue pigment, has been known as one of the oldest natural dyes. Generally, natural dyes have moderate colors and are environmentally friendly, while harmful mordants must be used for fixing them and obtaining a full color range on fabrics and it is very hard to improve K/S of the dyeing and mordanting. In this study, polygoum tinctoria dyeing was carried out various fabrics according to the various dyeing conditions - fermentation temperature, dyeing temperature, dyeing time, and kinds and amounts of alkali. And then the values of K/S according to dyeing conditions were investigated by colorimeter. We investigated to dyefastness against the light, wshing, perspiration and friction by KS(Korea Industrial Standard).

Polymer/clay nanocomposites have attracted considerable attention as a method of enhancing polymer properties and extending their utility. Polymer/clay nanocomposites can be fabricated by various methods such as in-situ polymerization, solution drying, and melt intercalation. In this study, Poly (styrene-co- acrylonitrile)/clay nanocomposites were prepared using a emulsion polymerization. The properties were investigated as a function of clay content (5,8,10,15 wt%) in the SAN matrix. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) photographs showed that most clay layers were dispersed homogeneously into the matrix polymer in nano-scale, although some particles of clay were agglomerated. The Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) measurement shows that the storage modulus of nanocomposites is higher than that of the clay-free SAN.

Aliphatic polyesters which has flexible chain and ester bond are known likely degraded by hydroliase. From the test of controlled compost device, PBAS, PBS and PBAST showed 44.0%, 23.4% and 32.0% biodegradability respectively, while cellulose showed up to 70.6%. Mechanical property was also measured by UTM and observed decrement with the biodegradation of the materials. Biodegradability varied with the chemical structure of the polymer.

Recycled polyurethane foams were prepared with variables of form and contents on the waste polyurethane foams as filler. They were analyzed for mechanical and physical properties by measuring of strength, combustibility, absorptibity, and void ratio. The results showed that recycled polyurethane foam using filler forms of cube and bar except powder can reuse up to 60wt.% waste foam contents.

Reactive cationioc surfactants were synthesized for intercalation of montmorillonite(MMT) a smectic type of clay. Organophilic MMT was prepared by ion exchange between Na^+ ions in the clay and surfactant`s cations in aqueous medium. Surfactant-intercalated MMT particles were easily dispersed and swollen in styrene monomer. Polystyrene-clay nanocomposites were prepared by free radical polymerization of styrene containing dispersed clay.  X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicate that exfoliation and intercalation of MMT was achieved. Polystyrene-clay nanocomposites have higher temperature of glass and Tan δ than virgin polystyrene.
