Purpose: The study focused on localization of the enhanced applique armor kit (EAAK), which are applied to Korea Assault Amphibious Vehicle (KAAV).
Methods: For this propose, we developed the manufacturing technology by analyzing the original products. Considering the conditions used in the military, we made the test evaluation criteria.
Results: In results, The EAAK developed through this research performs equivalent performance compared to Rafael, Co. Thus, It is possible not only stably supply a parts of EAAK for maintenance, but also to reduce costs due to import substitution effect.
Conclusion: It is expected that the manufacturing technology and test evaluation criteria accumulated through this study can be used in the localization of similar parts.

Purpose: In order to accurately reach an underwater projectile to a target point, reliable INS and accurate arrangement of INS between master and slave INS is paramount. Unlike terrestrial and aerial environments, underwater projectile will operates in a restricted environment where location information cannot be received or sent through satellites. In this report, we review the factors affecting the transfer alignment of master and slave INS, as well as how to improve the positional error between INS through improved transfer alignment algorithms.
Methods: In this work, we propose an improvement algorithm and verify it through simulation and driving test. The simulation confirmed the difference in the transfer alignment azimuth by fitting the MINS and SINS indoors, displacement in posture, and the process of transfer alignment between MINS and SINS through a driving test to confirm algorithm can improve the arrangement.
Results: According to this study, reason for the error in the transfer alignment between MINS/SINS is the factors of the system where movements such as roll, pitch, yaw are not inter locked in real time due to the delay in transmit/receive system. And confirm that the improved algorithm has a desirable effect on accuracy.
Conclusion: Through this work, it is possible to identify ways to improve the accuracy of underwater projectiles to reach their target points under various underwater environments and launch condition.

Purpose: We sought to understand why a high-speed rotating projectile featuring a fuze-and-body assembly sometimes exhibited airburst, and we intended to improve the flight stability by eliminating airburst.
Methods: We performed characteristic factor analysis, structural mechanics modeling, and dynamic modeling and simulation; and we scheduled firing tests to discover the cause of airburst. We used a step-by-step procedure to analyze the reliability function for selecting the bonding force standard that prevents airburst.
Results: The 00MM high-speed rotating projectile features a fuze bonded to a body assembly; the bonding sometimes can break on firing. The resulting contact force, vibration and roll damping during flight generated yaw. Flight became unstable; fuze operation triggered an airburst. Our reliability test improved the bonding force standard (the force was increased). When the bonding force was at least the minimum required, a firing test revealed that airburst/flight instability disappeared.
Conclusion: Analysis and identification of the causes of flight instability and airburst render military training safer and enhance combat power. Ammunition must perform as designed. Our method can be used to set standards that improve the performances of similar types of ammunition.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest weapon system specifications for requirements of Condition-Based Maintenance(CBM/CBM+).
Methods: The military documents and case studies with regard to condition-based maintenance were reviewed. Representative Korea defense specifications of weapon system such as an aircraft, a C4ISR etc. were analyzed and investigated the level of requirement for maintainability was.
Results: Condition-based maintenance was defined in both U.S. instruction and Korean directive. While deparment of defense(U.S.) provide a guidebook for CBM+, detailed instruction was not sufficient for Korean. Ministry of national defense(ROK) define the CBM+ by means of IPS element which should be developed along with the system development. The maintainability was barely included in Korean defense specifications, except for BIT(Built-in test) function. As a first step for defining the condition-based maintenance requirement in defense specification, this study suggests a standard form for data needed to acquire according to types of system, fault, failure, and so on.
Conclusion: The empirical researches on CMB/CBM+ with domestic weapon systems are not enough, and a logic which leads the maintenance strategy to CMB/CBM+ is not solved. Through technical researches and institutional improvements including this study, we hope that condition-based maintenance would be fully established in the Korean defense field.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to select factors affecting the global competitiveness of testing and certification bodies and to develop evaluation indicator.
Methods: Considering the industrial characteristics of Korea, the electrical and electronic test and certification field was selected as the research subject. As a research method, various factors were extracted through exploratory research such as theoretical considerations on the competitiveness of testing and certification bodies and analysis of the growth process of global testing and certification bodies, and focused interviews and surveys were conducted with conformity assessment experts.
Results: The 16 factors affecting the global competitiveness of testing and certification institutions were identified. Among the 4 PEST factors, the technological factor had the highest importance, followed by the economic factor, the social factor, and the political factor. The average of the 16 factors was 0.0625, and the 8 factors above the average included 4 technological factors, 3 economic factors, and 1 social factor, but did not include political factors. The factor with the greatest weight was Standardization Capability for Testing & Certification 0.105.
Conclusion: It can be used to evaluate the global competitiveness level of domestic testing and certification bodies using evaluation indicators and to establish strategies for strengthening global competitiveness.

Purpose: We provide a condition-based maintenance policy where a surrogate variable is used for monitoring system performance. We constructed a risk function by taking into account the risk and losses accompanied with erroneous decisions.
Methods: Assuming a unique degradation process for the performance variable and its specific relationship with the surrogate variable, the maintenance policy is determined. A risk function is developed on the basis of producer's and consumer's risks accompanied with each decision. With a strategic safety factor considered, the optimal threshold value for the surrogate variable is determined based on the risk function.
Results: The condition-based maintenance is analyzed from the point of risk. With an assumed safety consideration, the optimal threshold value of the surrogate variable is provided for taking a maintenance action. The optimal solution cannot be obtained in a closed form. An illustrative numerical example and solution is provided with a source code of R program.
Conclusion: The study can be applied to situation where a sensor signal is issued if the system performance begins to degrade gradually and reaches eventually its functional failure. The study can be extended to the case where two or more performance variables are connected to a same surrogate variable. Also estimation of the distribution parameters and risk coefficients should be further studied.

Purpose: Prior studies have sought to find antecedent to improve firm performance. However, research on compensation systems and employees' psychological mechanisms have been relatively limited. In this sense, this study has investigated the impact of compensation gap between TMT and employees on firm performance, and explored the factors that affect the above relationship. Specifically, this study analyzed the direct impact of compensation gap on firm performance. In addition, the process of compensation gap to firm performance is assumed to be significantly influenced by employees' recognized promotion system and satisfaction with TMT. Therefore, we examined moderating effects of both promotion probability and opportunity, and satisfaction with TMT on the relationship between compensation gap and firm performance.
Methods: For empirical test, financial variables were collected from TS-2000 database, and moderating variables were collected form Job Planet for listed firms in Korea. We conducted hierarchical regression analysis to test hypotheses.
Results: The findings of empirical analysis are as follows. First, compensation gap between TMT and employees had a positive effect on firm performance. Second, when promotion probability and opportunity was high, the effect of compensation gap on firm performance was strengthened. Third, when satisfaction with TMT was high, the positive effect of compensation gap on firm performance was also strengthened.
Conclusion: Our findings have expanded prior research on human resource management and labor relation by identifying the positive role of compensation gap between TMT and employees on firm outcome. Moreover, our results also indicated that promotion probability and opportunity, and satisfaction with TMT, which has not been addressed well in previous studies, were important conditions enhancing the positive relationship between compensation gap and firm performance. Finally, this study suggest several theoretical and managerial implication with future research direction.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a system predicting whether an electricity distribution system is abnormal by analyzing the temperature of the deteriorated system. Traditional electricity distribution system abnormality diagnosis was mainly limited to post-inspection. This research presents a remote monitoring system for detecting thermal images of the deteriorated electricity distribution system efficiently hereby providing safe and efficient abnormal diagnosis to electricians.
Methods: In this study, an object detection algorithm (YOLOv5) is performed using 16,866 thermal images of electricity distribution systems provided by KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation). Abnormality/ Normality of the extracted system images from the algorithm are classified via the limit temperature. Each classification model, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, XGBOOST is performed to explore 463,053 temperature datasets. The process capability index is employed to indicate the quality of the electricity distribution system.
Results: This research performs case study with transformers representing the electricity distribution systems. The case study shows the following states: accuracy 100%, precision 100%, recall 100%, F1-score 100%. Also the case study shows the process capability index of the transformers with the following states: steady state 99.47%, caution state 0.16%, and risk state 0.37%.
Conclusion: The sum of caution and risk state is 0.53%, which is higher than the actual failure rate. Also most transformer abnormalities can be detected through this monitoring system.

Purpose: After product development, a Reliability Demonstration Test(RDT) is performed to confirm that the target life has been achieved. In the RDT, there are cases where the test equipment cannot accommodate all samples. Therefore, this study considers a test method to most economically demonstrate the target life of the product at a certain confidence level when the sample size is larger than the capacity of the test equipment.
Methods: If the sample size is larger than the capacity of the test equipment, test equipments may be added or the test time of individual samples may be increased. So the test method is designed to cover this situation with limited capacity. A zero-failure test method is applied as a test method to RDT. To minimize the cost, the test cost is defined and the cost function is obtained. Finally, we obtain the optimal test plan.
Results: A zero-failure test method is designed when the sample size is larger than the capacity of the test equipment, and the expected total cost is derived. In addition, the process of calculating the appropriate sample size, test time, and number of test equipment is illustrated through an example, and the effects of model parameters to the optimal solutions are investigated numerically.
Conclusion: In this paper, we study a zero-failure RDT with test equipment that has limited capacity. The expected total cost is derived and the optimal sample size, test time, and number of test equipment are determined to minimize the expected total cost. We also studied numerical examples and for further studies, we can relax some restrictions in the test model and optimize the test method.

Purpose: This study attempted to verify which factor affects the intention to use of the connected car that has recently emerged.
Methods: Based on prior researches, this study derives the characteristics of connected car that affects user intention and designs research model for empirical analysis. A structured questionnaire was conducted for those who drive cars, and a total of 292 usable responses were collected and empirically analyzed using SPSS and PLS.
Results: The results of this study are as follows; service quality, hedonic motivation, and social influence have a significant effect on perceived value, but system quality, information quality, user innovation, experience and facilitating condition did not. In addition, it was found that system quality, information quality, service quality, user innovation, facilitating conditions and social influence have a significant effect on satisfaction, but hedonic motivation and experience did not affect satisfaction.
Conclusion: The findings of this empirical analysis have implications for effectively recognizing the value of connected cars based on the technology of information systems to users and establishing sustainable growth strategies for connected car producers and suppliers.
