Disaster response knowledge, attitude toward disaster, and disaster and safety practice were measured in both groups after the intervention. The program consisted of 4 weeks. The data were analyzed by x2 test and independent t-test with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: The experimental group who participated in the storytelling-based disaster and safety education program showed a significant increase in disaster response knowledge, and disaster and safety practice scores compared to the control group. Conclusion: It was found that the storytelling-based disaster and safety education programs were effective in increasing disaster response knowledge, and disaster and safety practice. We hope that the storytelling-based disaster and safety education programs can be used in the elderly nursing curriculum in the future, and we suggest it should be applied as a nursing intervention.

Purpose: This study was conducted to provide basic data for college students living in the Seoul metropolitan area to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and explore countermeasures by identifying the degree of difference with anxiety, stress, and preventive health behavior before and after the COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: Data were collected from the subjects of the study, 192 college students aged 19 to 29 who completed the COVID-19 vaccination in the Seoul metropolitan area. The data were analyzed with the correlation, paired t-test, and independent t-test using the SPSS 27.0. Results: Preventive health behavior, health anxiety, and stress showed the positive correlation before and after the COVID-19 vaccination among the college students. After the COVID-19 vaccination, COVID-19 related stress including fear of infection (d=-0.11±0.09), and difficulty in social distancing (d=-0.21±0.08), and health behavior (d=-0.06±0.44) decreased compared to before the vaccination. Conclusion: Health education and health policies are required to continue preventive health behavior even after the vaccination.

Purpose: This study aimed to describe a non-face-to-face dementia prevention and physical activity program in small rural villages during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study used a case report provided by a primary healthcare post in Gyeonggi-do in 2020. Results: The program was “From head to toe, stay healthy”, which was largely divided into dementia prevention (“Dementia Zero Zone”) and physical activity (“The less fat, The healthier body”). Five elderly people aged 75 and over participated for preventing dementia, and 13 residents joined the health promoting programs over 80 times in total. This program was designed one-to-one customized and person-centered program, including counseling, education, and health services. The program participants responded that the amount of physical activities was increased even under strict social distancing and they felt less isolated and less depressed. Moreover, the number of screening for dementia was increased with this program. Conclusion: This case has shown the applicability of a new approach to sustain health promotion programs in the context of limited interaction with rural nurses. Under the challenging environment that requires adaptation to information and communication technologies (ICTs), it will be necessary to solve not only technical problems but also digital literacy issues of rural residents.
