In Muju County, one of Korea's major apple producers, the regional agricultural cooperatives united together and invested to establish a cooperative joint business corporation in charge of the sales business. The corporation carried out the sales business transferred from the participating regional agricultural cooperatives. While the two participating cooperatives showed a marked difference in the degree of participation at the beginning of the business, the introduction of the agricultural product processing centers (APCs) and the participation of co-selection and shipment organizations and general farms helped settle this gap. In addition, commercialization through the APCs enhanced the market competitiveness of apples, which led to the stable securing of sales outlets. The corporation integrated the sales business in the county and this resulted in increased sales volume and sales revenue. Playing a leading role in introducing and cultivating new crops on a trial basis, the corporation demonstrated its potential as the main body of the joint sales business.

The purpose of this study is to help operate and manage the new food period system by investigating consumer perception of sell-by-date and use-by-date, and change of purchasing and consumption period by food period label. Although they have opinions that fit the purpose of introducing the system, such as the need to introduce a use by date, extending the food intake period, and reducing food waste, they still lack an accurate understanding of the system, so education or publicity is needed. In addition, no matter what form of use by date is introduced, products with food expiration date are still likely to be returned or discarded. Therefore, it is desirable to adjust the setting criteria or safety factor for each deadline rather than changing the food period labeling method. In order to reduce consumer confusion and food waste, it is judged that the parallel marking of the sell by date and use by date is appropriate.

In recent years, the development of rice industry has been highly valued by the state. In hubei area, due to the development of the modernization and the shortage of labor, traditional way of rice cultivation methods is facing serious challenges, and economic benefits have become the decisive factor for the effective promotion and application of rice cultivation methods. According to the research results, first, in the input-side analysis, in the CCR model, D5, D12, D26, D28, D32, D36 farmers with high efficiency appear. The analysis result shows that among the 60 farmers, the average efficiency is 89%, and there is an inefficiency of 11%. In the BCC model, 14 farmers were identified as high-efficiency farmers, with an average efficiency of 0.9453. Second, in direct seeding cultivation of rice, the average scale efficiency is 0.9227, while the average pure technical efficiency is 0.9644. This shows that the effect of scale efficiency is greater than that of purely technical factors, ignoring the reasons for the low operational efficiency of direct seeding cultivation farmers. It can be predicted that with the further deepening of farmers' understanding of this planting mode, the proportion of rice direct seeding may be further expanded in the future. Relevant agricultural departments should further promote this technology to farmers, study the direct seeding technology using scientific methods, and evaluate the changes of this cultivation mode. The agricultural departments of government should concern about the climate risk assessment of direct seeding rice, the environmental impact assessment caused by the extensive use of herbicides, the application of mechanical technology in the process of direct seeding, the lodging of direct seeding rice, and other related issues.

This study investigated the online transaction status of low-carbon certified fresh agricultural products and analyzed the low-carbon certified premium. For two months from March to April 2022, eight products (rice, apple, pear, sweet persimmons, paprika, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce) were surveyed at major online shopping malls. The low-carbon certification premium was analyzed using hedonic price analysis model. As a result of the online market survey, the low-carbon certified agricultural products were not traded in the case of rice, cherry tomatoes, and paprika. And the proportion of low-carbon certified agricultural products in the case of tomatoes and lettuce was low. As a result of the low-carbon premium analysis, of the five products that analyzed the low-carbon certification premium, four products excluding pear did not have a low-carbon certification premium. Thus, it is necessary to expand the sale of the low-carbon certified agricultural products by distributors, and various efforts to secure the premium of certified agricultural products are important.

The effect of Neobacillus sp. JC05 extract on the defense response in cucumber plants against root-knot nematode (RKN) was evaluated. As a result of drench treatment of JC05-extract in cucumber plants, formation of egg mass per plants and disease severity were significantly decreased compared to untreated control plants; the malondialdehyde contents also decreased in JC05-extract treated plants. When eggs of Meloidogyne incognita were inoculated, cucumber plants treated with JC05-extract elevated pathogenesis-related gene expression such as chitinase and lipoxygenase, these are well known as inducing resistance in plants, in addition, peroxidase among antioxidant enzymes was significantly activated. Moreover, the JC05-extract enhanced FDAse activity in soils grown cucumber plants inoculated by eggs of M. incognita. Taken together, these results suggest that the JC05-extract could involve in activation of defense-related mechanisms of cucumber plants and result in decrease of disease occurrence caused by M. incognita.

Southern blight caused by Sclerotium rolfsii is a serious soilborne disease in economically important crops including pepper. In this study, we conducted a selection of antagonistic bacterial strains and organic materials to biologically control the disease. Out of 39 strains isolated from soils at Jinju in Korea, strain JJ2-01 showed the highest mycelial growth inhibition; garlic oil among various organic materials significantly reduced disease incidence and severity. When a combination of strain JJ2-01 and garlic oil, or each was drenched into the pepper plants, combined treatment and garlic oil significantly suppressed the disease development, however, acid phosphatase activity in garlic oil-treated plants decreased. In the case of combined treatment, the soil activities did not affect by treatment, while soil urease activity was significantly increased by the combined treatment. Therefore, given soil quality and health for sustainable agriculture, the combination of strain JJ2-01 and garlic acid was an effective application for environmentalfriendly control of Southern blight in pepper plants.

The acute dermal and eye irritation tests of Photorhabdus temperata, a symbiotic bacterium of Heterorhabditis megidis Gwangju strain, were carried out in New Zealand white rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), following the guidelines of OECD and Rural Development Administration (RDA) of Korea. In both tests, neither dermal nor eye responses were found from all the P. temperata treated rabbits and the results were classified as non-irritating. That is, erythema, eschar, edema, and any other dermal critical signs were not observed from all the experimental rabbits in the dermal irritation test. In the acute eye irritation test, no clinical signs of cornea, iritis, conjunctiva (redness, edema, lacrima, and chemosis) were observed from all the experimental rabbits. Individual ocular irritation, mean ocular irritation, and acute ocular irritation were calculated as 0.0. The results of dermal and eye irritation studies on P. temperata indicated that this bacterium could be a safe and effective alternative bionematicide against the most serious plant-parasitic root-knot nematodes in the genus Meloidogyne.
