1BaF2 용융염을 활용한 Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ 형광체의 광 특성 개선

Greenish yellow Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ (LuAG:Ce) as a conversion phosphor for high-quality light emitting diode (LED) device was prepared through solid state reaction using BaF2 as a flux. It showed an excellent thermal stability, a high quantum efficiency and a broader photoluminescence excitation spectrum compared with pure LuAG:Ce without BaF2. Its improved thermal stability results from the fewer intrinsic defects at high temperature, confirmed by uniformity of surface and size. To evaluate its feasibility for white LED, the LuAG:Ce and commercial Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ (YAG:Ce) were applied to a blue LED with a silicone resin, and their characteristics were compared and analyzed. As a result, the LuAG:Ce phosphor revealed extremely efficient light emission without an efficiency loss under blue LED in comparison with the YAG:Ce phosphor.

In this paper, it is considered the workload and overshoot in the M/G/1 queueing model. To obtain a good approximation of the distribution of workload, it is essential to know the moments of overshoot when the threshold of workload goes to infinity. We find the relation of the 1st moments of service time and the 1st moment of workload when the threshold of workload goes to infinity. In this research, it is proved that the ratio of the two 1st moments is a function of , the traffic intensity of the queueing model, and the squared coefficient of variation of the service time.

A copper-catalyzed aerobic oxidative dehydrogenation reaction method for the conversion of 2-(alkylthio)-1,4-dihydropyrimidines to 2-(alkylthio)pyrimidines was developed. The reaction proceeded efficiently with a wide range of 2-(alkylthio)-1,4-dihydropyrimidine substrates in the absence of additives, such as an oxidant, acid, or base.

Trisubstituted thiazole derivatives were synthesized with heteroaylation to 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles under catalytic palladium reaction in moderate yields. Diverse thiazole derivatives were obtained from ethyl-4-(4-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-(2-fluoropyrin-4-yl)-thiazo-2-yl), piperidine-1-caboxylate (2a) with amine substitution, decarboxylation, and methylation. The synthesized thiazoles could be used important chemical substances to find potential lead compound in drug discovery.

The Arduino UNO microcontroller with PLX-DAQ has been tested as a real-time data acquisition system. The Arduino UNO board has analog-digital converters and digital-analog converters with a built-in plotter, which can be programmed with its own Integrated Development Environment. With PLX-DAQ (a data acquisition tool by Parallax) the measured data can be transferred to a spreadsheet and manipulated on PC, Here the capacitor voltage variation during the charging and discharging cycles in the RC circuits was monitored with its own built-in plotter. And the RC time constants were compared with the theoretical values. Finally the Arduino UNO with PLX-DAQ is found to be one of the good tools in undergraduate physics lab.

In this study, foods known to have an effect on lipolysis were reacted with lard to measure the amount of fatty acids, and the lipolysis efficiency of each sample was compared. After lard was incubated with each of 9 samples (green tea powder, onion powder, ginger powder, garlic powder, pepper powder, red pepper powder, black coffee powder, coffee powder, and brown rice powder) and then reacted with benzene and Cu2+ solution, the supernatant was taken and its absorbance at 715 nm was measured with a spectrophotometer. The maximum absorbance was obtained from the solution obtained from the brown rice powder. Brown rice powder is therefore concluded to be an efficient food for lipolysis.
