1한국 노인의 연령과 자세 정렬의 관계

Purpose The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between age and postural alignment in elderly Koreans. Moreover, linear regression was performed to determine to what extent the postural alignment are explained by age. Methods 52_healthy elderly individual (female: 32, male: 20) participated in this study. All participants were evaluated for postural alignments. The relationship and explanatory power between age and postural alignment were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and simple linear regression analysis. Results Age was strongly correlated with CVA(r=0.78), CTA(r=0.67) and CHA(r=0.72) in elderly female(p<0.05). Age was strongly correlated with SA (r=0.66) and STA (r=0.65) in elderly male(p<0.05). In the elderly female, Age accounted for 61% variance in CVA, 44% variance in CTA and 52% variance in CHA(p<0.05). In the elderly male, Age accounted for 44% variance in SA and 43% variance in STA(p<0.05). Conclusion Age is the major correlation of postural alignment of the neck of an elderly woman, and the major correlation of posture alignment of the shoulder of an elderly man.

Purpose The Aim of this study is to determine the muscle activity of the upper extremity depending on the forearm position during the shoulder external rotation exercise. Methods 23 normal adult males were selected to perform shoulder external rotation exercises using three different position (supination, neutral, and pronation), while subject's shoulder and elbow was at 0° abduction and 90° flexion, respectively. Electromyography (EMG) was attached to the infraspinatus, posterior deltoid, biceps brachii, triceps brachii, brachioradialis and extensor carpi ulnaris to observe muscle activity. Results With the different positions of the forearm, there was significant difference in muscle activity for the posterior deltoid, biceps brachii, brachioradialis, and extensor carpi ulnaris(p<.05). However, there were no significant difference between the infraspinatus and triceps brachii. Conclusion Shoulder external rotation exercise with a forearm supination position and external rotation can safely be used as efficient method for a rehabilitation of one's shoulder.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Shaker exercise (SE) and modified Shaker exercise (MSE) on the activity of the suprahyoid (SH), Sternocleidomastoid (SCM), anterior scalene (AS), splenius capitis muscles (SC). In addition, we want to investigate whether there is a difference in muscle activity and fatigue during SE and MSE according to forward head posture (FHP). Methods Thirty-nine healthy adults participated in this study. All subjects performed SE and MSE isometric exercise, and the exercise sequence was counterbalanced. SE and MSE measured the mean, maximum, and fatigue levels of SH, SCM, AS, and SC muscles using surface electromyography. All exercises were repeated 5 times and were performed isometrically for 20 seconds, with an interval of 30 seconds between exercises. A 20-minute break was provided between the two exercises. For reference voluntary contraction, 90˚ abduction was performed 3 times based on the middle deltoid muscle. The craniovertebral angle was measured to determine the FHP. Results SH and AS, SC muscles activation was significantly higher in MSE than in SE (p<.05). There was no significant difference in SCM muscle activity and fatigue between the two exercises. In SE, the group with FHP less than 50 degrees showed significantly lower activity in SH and SC muscles than the group with 50 degrees or more. Conclusion These findings suggest that MSE can be used as a more effective method for enhancing SH muscles than conventional SE.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rotator cuff strengthening exercises on the shoulder joint range of motion and gross motor in patients with weakened rotator cuff muscle strength of the paralyzed shoulder due to stroke. Methods A total of 25 stroke patients were conducted, including 12 in the experimental group and 13 in the control group. The experimental group provided rotator cuff strengthening exercises, and the control group provided treatment to increase shoulder flexibility and mobility. Both groups were treated 3 times a week for 4 weeks after the common rehabilitation treatment routine. A ROM test using a goniometer was used to measure the shoulder joint range of motion, and a Box and Block Test(BBT) was performed to measure the shoulder movement. The evaluation was conducted twice in total: the pre- and post-intervention evaluation within the two groups and the pre- and post-intervention evaluation between the groups. Results In the evaluation before and after the intervention in each group, both groups showed a statistically significant increase in shoulder joint range of motion and shoulder groping ability. In the pre- and post-intervention evaluation between groups, the experimental group showed a statistically significant difference in shoulder flexion(p<.01), shoulder abduction(p<.05) and shoulder gross motor(p<.001) compared to the control group. Therefore, it is judged that the rotator cuff muscle strengthening exercise of the paralyzed shoulder of stroke patients can be applied to improve the shoulder joint range of motion and the ability to move the shoulder.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cervical stabilization on postural alignment and balance in patient with stroke. Methods The study was designed in ABA format with a single subject design. The study was conducted on men diagnosed with a 52-year-old stroke, and after 30 minutes of cervical stabilization training in supine and sitting, 20 minutes of functional movement exercise were conducted with cervical stabilization orthosis, 50 minutes a day, 5 times a week for two weeks. Craniovertebral Angle(CVA), Functional Reach Test(FRT), Modified Functional Reach Test(MFRT), Timed Up and Go test(TUG) and collected information every time. Results As a result of the study, the CVA, FRT, MFRT showed significant changes in both baseline and regression period after intervention. There was no significant change in the total time of the TUG, but the sit to stand time increased and the walking speed increased. Conclusion This study demonstrates that cervical stabilization training has shown significant improvements in posture alignment and balance in stroke patient.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of upper limb function and satisfaction of work ability based on trunk stability training after stroke. Methods In this study, 25 hospitalized patients were subjected to upper limb approach combined with trunk stabilization training for 13 patients and general occupational therapy for 12 patients. In this study, the difference in satisfaction with upper limb function and satisfaction of work ability before and after intervention was evaluated using stroke Manual Function test (MFT) and Work Ability Index (WAI). Results There was a significant difference in the comparison of MFT and WAI before and after intervention in the experimental group (p< .05). In the control group, there was no significant difference between MFT and WAI (p >.05). After the intervention, there was a significant difference in WAI between the two groups (p<.05). Conclusion Through this study, upper limb approach combined with trunk stability training for stroke patients is thought to help improve satisfaction of work ability and upper limb function.

Purpose This study was conducted to identify the effect of Kinesio-taping on the paretic ankle for changes in Electromyography (EMG) activity, gait in Chronic Stroke Patients. Methods Sixteen patients were selected for the study and randomly divided into the experimental (n = 8), and the control group (n = 8). The flexible Kinesio-taping was attached on the skin of the study group patients. And inflexible taping was attached on the skin of control group patients. The tape was attached on the fibularis longus, fibularis tertius, extensor digitorum longus, and tibialis anterior muscle. The intervention was provided for five sessions per week for four weeks with each session lasting 30 minutes. EMG, the Time Up and Go Test (TUG), and the 10 Meter Walk Test (10MWT) were used to measure changes in variables before and after the intervention. Results There were statistically significant differences before and after the intervention especially in the paretic tibialis anterior of the experimental group, who performed Kinesio-taping for the paretic ankle (p< .05). While other parts of the leg showed some increase or decrease, the differences were not significant (p >.05). A comparison of the groups showed a statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the paretic tibialis anterior (p<.05). In the TUG and 10MWT, the experimental group and the control group showed significant changes in variables before and after the intervention (p< .05). A comparison of the groups showed no statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group (p >.05). Conclusion Kinesio-taping on the paretic ankle for 4 weeks has an effect on muscle activity changes in the paretic tibialis anterior and improving gait speed for stroke patients.

Purpose This study was to investigate effect of proprioceptive feedback combined with action observation training on sensory, upper limb function and activities of daily living (ADLs) in chronic stroke patients. Methods This study was conducted after randomly classifying 26 inpatients into 13 patients in the experimental group who performed proprioceptive feedback with action observation training and 13 patients in the control group, which only received proprioceptive feedback. As evaluation methods, upper limb sensory test, Fugl-Meyer Assessmsnt (FMA), and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) were used. Results In the comparison of sensory, upper limb function and ADLs before and after intervention in the experimental group, there were significant differences in proprioception, FMA, and MBI (p<.05). In the control group, significant differences were shown in FMA (p<.05). And in comparison between the experimental group and the control group, there was a significant difference in proprioception (p<.05). Conclusion This study will promote sensory and upper extremity functions in chronic stroke patients and help them perform ADLs.
