How do poetry gain poesy(artness)? what could be the crucial esthetic factors as we appreciate poetry? poetry is a field of art only having different medium from other kinds of arts. Therefore, like any other arts, poetry pursuits similar esthetic impressions. Unlike the ordinary language, the language of poetry refuses to be encoded. Moreover, poetry gain aesthetic impression by obtaining defamiliarization. The poetry readers and educators tend to search for hidden meaning in the poetry. such a tendency is a bad habit that makes poetry more difficult than necessary. Some poetries do seem very complex. The first type of obscure poetry do not necessarily require interpretation, but only letting the readers to enjoy the defamiliarization. The second type is the poetries that require interpretation without contributing much to the aesthetic value. As I. A. Richard mentioned, the first type is the inclusive poetry, and the second type is the poetry of exclusion disguised as the inclusive poetry.

초록보기

Sin Jeong-eon was a historical storyteller who was active in the 1930s and was enthusiastically supported by the public. He took the material of the Yadam from the previous literature, adapted and embellished it to suit public taste.
Comparing Sin Jeong-eon's yadams to those of the late Joseon Dynasty, the popular orientation is as follows.
First, he formed an affinity with the public with traditional motifs and ethics. And he emphasized the things of the past, the inherent things of Joseon, and reduced the repulsion that the public could feel in previous yadams. He also tried to communicate with the public with emotion and empathy. The tears of grief poured out by the characters in Sin Jeong-eon's yadam provided catharsis to the public who had to suffer the sorrow of ruin for Japanese colonial era. Finally, he was considerate of the public by developing and supplementing the yadam so that they could understand it.
In addition, he added significance to his yadam by supplementing the compressed or omitted parts of the previous yadam and helping the public understand the yadam.
The popular orientation of Sin Jeong-eon's yadams contributed to the popularization of yadams in modern times. However, it lost its epic dynamism as seen in previous novels by defending traditional ideologies and ethics and expanding the sentiment of tears.

In this paper, we focus on “The Red Fort”(Sekikanki 赤嵌記) by Japanese writer Mitsuru Nishikawa and “Die in 'the Southern'” by Taiwanese writer Long Ying-zong. I looked at how the meaning of 'Southern' is different in the two works. “The Red Fort” has heterogeneous elements. Nishikawa insisted on the homogeneity of Taiwan and Japan through the story of the Zheng Dynasty. This story hinted at the continuity between unfinished work of Zheng Cheong-gong and Japan's Great East Asia War. However, by vividly depicting Taiwan's nature, customs, and Taiwanese life, the unfamiliar and exotic 'Taiwan' was reproduced. This drew the attention of Japanese and literary circles. At this time, Taiwan became a “different” place from Japan.
On the other hand, “Die in 'the Southern'” exposed that Taiwanese youths had the imperialist desires of. Long Ying-zong depicted the desire of Taiwanese young people to become 'the colonizer'. It was the desire for Taiwan to become the “Japan” of 'the southern', not just the southern part of the Japanese Empire. The story took an attitude that seemed to agree with this desire through 'you' going 'the southern'. But he was also well aware of the inherent pitfalls of that desire. That is why 'the madman' character-'your brother' appeared in the novel in his novel. 'Your' brother knew the meaning of the trap, and that's why he couldn't help but go crazy.

The purpose of this study is to present a plan for developing a convergent education program online and offline as a way to expand Korean language education overseas. To this end, we will take a look at online and offline learning from a system perspective and look at the modular curriculum in terms of development of the curriculum as an approach to expand support for overseas Korean language education, and based on these review, present a plan for developing an onand off-line convergent modular curriculum. It is the professionalism of teachers that has the most direct impact on the quality of Korean language education. However, a lot of experiences and resources must be invested in training teachers with expertise. In addition, Korean language teachers at foreign university have sufficient expertise, but a lack of competent teachers compared to overseas demand, and the financial burden of sending teachers on faculty level is considerable. Development of an on- and off-line convergent curriculum can provide solutions to these difficulties. Modular online courses to be distributed abroad through the convergent-integrated curriculum should be developed, including ways to utilize local operating agent.

This study examines the psychological trauma and healing in Arthur Miller's autobiographical writing After the Fall by comparing it with his private life and 20th century's tragic histories. This play overtly shows Miller's complicated traumas and his male-oriented identity or misogyny which are similarly represented in his major plays. As a Jewish playwright he experienced or witnessed the Depression, the Holocaust, McCarthyism. Marrige to Marilyn Monroe and her death was highly publicized. This play reveals Miller's two kinds of psychological traumas through the protagonist Quentin. One is the crisis of masculine identity caused by his selfish cold mother and dogmatic or self-destructive wives. The other is a sense of guilt and damage which came from private tragedy and historic catastrophes. Quentin perceives his own cruelty when he wants to kill his mother and second wife. He also feels relieved after his best friend's political suicide. Remembering these traumas of guilt and damage destroys his sense of self-esteem as well as his ability to control emotions and human relationships. Quentin recognizes his complicity in all the evils of the world and he accepts that no one can be innocent again after the Fall from the Eden.

초록보기

Stalin's dominant form in Soviet children's literature is not an active, acting man, but a moving, loving political object with a holy and gentle face like saints of religiousization. Not only do we praise Stalin, but all the great, beautiful and wonderful things of our time are embodied in Stalin's image. Stalin is always right, just and great. In other words, writing about Stalin was also writing about Stalin's great achievements.
In this sense, in an attempt to find the living Stalin, it is not the gentle and holy Stalin that exists as a symbol of his death, but the living Stalin that excludes this image. Stalin is an iron leader who has ruled the Soviet Union for a long time since the Russian Socialist Revolution, demanding that writers express their worship as well as relentless purges of opposition politicians to consolidate power. Perhaps that's why Stalin's image has always been a sacred, unperturbed, solid body, but a life-abiding, hyper-temporary monument.
Furthemore, we looked at Stalin's figures in both “Tarakanishe” and “Barmalay” by Kornei Chukovsky in the 1920s. The main character, Barmalay, was suspected of being Stalin because of his relentless cruelty with a long mustache that eats children. He also writes a work called Tarakanishe, which paraphrases the political situation under the dictatorship of a frightening and repugnant meaningless party. Tarakanishe's performance has also given Stalin's nickname, “cockroach.” Stalin also adapted the work without mentioning the author in the 16th competition.
After Stalin's death, Soviet children's literature began exploring various themes about children's literature as myths developed to erase Stalin's cult.

CRISPR/Cas9 gene scissors is a technology that can artificially cut and attach genes. This technology can make the (born) child healthy by editing DNA with congenital hereditary diseases. However, when we are only looking at the positive value of this technology, the negative side of the technology can be overshadowed by the hopes of a therapeutic technology. If we only look at the utilitarian values of this technology and miss the possibility of negativity, this technology will put a lot of burden on humanity.
This paper goes one step further from the utopia of genetic scissors technology and pursues the duality of technology. This article points out some of the values we might miss out on because of the genetic scissors technology. Finally, this article reiterates the limitations of the utilitarian approach to genetic scissors technology and the importance of metaphysical values that may be lost by technology.

The purpose of this article is to explore the special traits and characteristics of religion that correspond to a life with Hansen's disease by reviewing the suffering narratives of people afflicted by that disease. In the face of the harsh reality of being banished from society for the sole reason of having contracted Hansen's disease, people affected were forced not only to suffer from the disease itself but to endure loneliness, pain, sadness, longing, despair and fear. Sorokdo island was an oppressive and closed space in which those exiled were accommodated, but here the people suffering from Hansen's disease were able to enter an arena of hospitality formed through religion. Religion provided the opportunity for these people to establish for themselves a personal subjectivity and helped them build a space where they could conduct a humane life through their mutual solidarity within the repressive structure of surveillance and control. In addition they were able to form a sense of existence and collective identity for themselves through religion and secure the power to fine-tune the oppressive space they faced in Sorokdo Island. Furthermore, based on this power, the exiled aspired to make room for their lives, viewing the physical restraints and violence they had to suffer as sacrifices for 'national pedigree purification', and such aspirations were represented as 'paradise' or 'new heaven and earth'. Through the suffering narratives of people afflicted by Hansen's disease, we discover the form and force of their struggle, being positively the form of their religion, fluctuating with the pain of the disease and the social suffering of discrimination and exclusion.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the injustice inherent in the landlord-tenant relationship of a commercial building, one of Gap-Eul relationships, and the phenomenon of gentrification, based on the concept of domination of republican theory, and to explore ways to minimize it. The main arguments are as follows. First, the landlord dominates the tenant in the relationship of commercial building lease. The tenant is highly dependent on the landlord because of its high exit cost, and the landlord with the superior position in bargaining can exercise social power to tenant through termination of the contract and refusal of renewal, and such power is likely to be exercised arbitrarily. Second, the gentrifiers, acting with common intentions to maximize potential ground rent, dominate the current residents. Current residents must move elsewhere to break away from social relations with gentrifiers. However, they do not want to migrate, so they depend on them. Gentrifiers have the social power to drive out current residents by raising the overall real estate prices and rents in the area, and use this power to unfairly extort profits from rising local asset values. Third, the tenant's displacement caused by gentrification occurs due to overlapping domination in the landlord-tenant relationship and the gentrifiers-current residents relationship. Therefore, it is necessary to come up with measures to minimize the domination in each relationship.
