초록보기
Many recreational areas for tourism such as national parks, beaches, and other famous attractions tend to have their peak seasons. When the peaks are clearly distinguishable from the ordinary non-peak seasons, travel demand often exceeds the capacity of transportation facilities. In turn, travelers face discomfort by severe traffic congestion, long queue in intersections, or crowded streets. This study introduces a temporary transportation system, which does not require costly investment to build new transportation facilities, providing additional capacity in the network to soothe the traffic flow only during the peak period. The system consists of modular runways, small sized vehicles and consolidated operating devices, designed to be built as freely as it is needed without massive sub-base course works, alias 'Lego-typetransit system'. Afterwards, the system can be disassembled and carried for the next use, like the Lego blocks. Currently being in the phase of a conceptual design of the system, this paper examines a case study of a simulated scenario in a recreational area showing how this Lego-type transit system can be implemented in reality.

초록보기
According to the 2011 census, there are over 26 nationalities and national and ethnic groups in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which makes it a highly multi-ethnic environment. Each ethnic group nurtures a distinctive culture and tradition, which are recognized as having a highly significant potential for tourism development in Vojvodina. This paper presents the results of a survey conducted with the aim of determining the activities of tourism organizations and travel agencies that are focused on implementing achievements of these cultures into a tourism product. The survey included 27 tourism organizations and 25 travel agencies from the territory of Vojvodina. The results indicate a high level of interest of tourism organizations in promoting national minorities living in their municipalities. On theother hand, travel agencies do not have many travel arrangements that promote the culture of national minorities of Vojvodina.

초록보기
Success of failure of tourism industry in each country directly depends on the supportive policy of the government; so that as the support of the government is more for the tourism, the inflorescence of this section will be more. The combination of the factors caused the governors to look at tourism as the lever which can play an important role in relations and diplomacy since this industry can free the countries from one-product mode. Even low investment in tourism compared to other industries can provide positive changes. It should be considered that if security and regulation or proper infrastructures are provided in tourism, the benefits will be progressive. On the other hand, the effect of tourism in the economy of the countries has caused it to be one of the bases of conversation for the foreign boards. In other words, diplomacy based on tourism has been formed and has been successful to be discussed in the international contracts. Since the way of introducing tourism to the countries passed from embassies and government has given the right to the ambassadors to directly or indirectly play the role in tourism. So, the ambassadors have to care about all the issues and local, foreign and regional considerations about the tourists, since administrating the “tourism diplomacy” has direct effect on economic, political, cultural and social issues. The present study tries to analyze the effectiveness as a strategy in development and attraction of the tourisms.

This paper explores the respective rules of behaviour of international tourists from China, France and the USA and Vietnamese service providers. The Principal Components Analysis method is used to identify and group the distinctive rules of behaviour of tourists and hosts with a view to providing an enhanced understanding of tourists-hosts interaction during the service encounter in cross-cultural settings. It presents the findings of a self-administered survey to 235 Chinese, 180 French and 170 American tourists visiting Vietnam. The rules of behaviour guiding Western and Asian respondents were found to have more differences than similarities. The differences impact upon host and guest inter-cultural interactions during service encounter. The research has both practical and academic significance. From the theoretical perspective, this study provides anenhancing understanding of Argyle et al.'s study on cross-cultural variations in the rules which determine relationships. This instrument has previously been applied in the field of sociology, psychology and marketing. In the present case, it is used with some modifications to measure hosts-guests cross-cultural interactions in the service encounter and the associated insights should be useful for tourism researchers. The implications for tourism industry management destination and marketers are presented. It is recommended that the Vietnamese tourism authorities target international tourism markets more precisely and improve the quality of service provision.

The longer the traveler travels from home to the destination, the more s/he spends at the destination. This is a “law” long known in tourism development studies. However, in this world of advancing transportation technology, does it still hold true? The most accurate method of its examination can be attained by conducting a large scale survey to tourists with a scope wide enough to represent the population, asking their location of residence, destination of travel and the amount spent at the destination. However, this paper verifies the validity of the law by using existing tourism and transportation statistics. The statistics used in this study are: 1) Japan Tourism Agency's “Tourism Consumption Data”, which provides the average total amount paid for a trip by tourists and their distance travelled; 2)Transport Ministry's “Passenger Travel Mode Survey”, which provides the share of the transportation mode used in a given travel sector; and 3) “Accommodation Statistics”, which sheds light on the number of nights stayed andthe amount spent for accommodations. These data, after calculation adjustments, will show the amount paid for a trip, besides transportation and accommodations, by tourists and their distance of travel. Japan has 47 prefectures. The study compared the amount, as achieved from above calculation process, of tourists traveling from Tokyo and its three neighboring prefectures to all other 43 prefectures. As a result of this comparison, the correlation coefficient between the distance travelled and the amount spent was 0.71, showing strong positive correlation. The significance of the proof of the “law” to the tourism developers will be that it does make senseto invest more in promoting long-distance travelers, and when a tourist destination is expecting a new mode of transportation connecting a far market, it should prepare for larger tourist consumption.

The study is aimed at providing some developmental suggestions as well as the roles given for airline service departments of 2 or 3 year-colleges and 4 year-universities by analyzing the current situations of airline service related departments, their performance index, and their curricula. As result of surveying through homepages and information disclosure of colleges and universities, 35 colleges and 14 universities established airline service relevant departments. They differs somewhat in their name of departments but operate similar curriculum. This situation does show the fact that the demand for service professionals in the aviation field has not been met and they ignore keeping up with constant change.
