This paper reveals a case of Japanese class as a liberal arts course of the blended learning method in the post-COVID-19 era and evaluates the teaching and learning methods on the basis of the student satisfaction survey. The students evaluated the beginner’s Japanese class in liberal arts positively, which is a blended learning method that combines online and offline study. Over 90% of the students answered positively in the questionnaire in terms of (i) the evaluation of the distribution of class content between online (grammar explanation) and offline (focused on learning activities), (ii) the learning effects of the online class video, and (iii) the learning effects of the activities conducted in the offline class. Ultimately, through this course, the students have been highly motivated to learn Japanese and have reported a strong improvement in their Japanese skills.

Emerging infectious diseases are increasing recently and globally. We have a long list of infectious disease epidemic in the 21th century followed by SARS, MERS, Ebola virus disease, and Zika virus infection. COVID-19 is a still ongoing pandemic. What will be the next pandemic agent? The World Health Organization proposed a research and development blueprint regarding global pandemic in 2016. The United Kingdom maintains a list of high consequence infectious diseases and is monitoring them. The Republic of Korea designates Class 1 infectious diseases capable of causing outbreak or epidemic. This article briefly describes several infectious diseases and its causative pathogen that should receive special attention. (Korean J Med 2022;97:277-283)

본 연구의 목적은 최근 우리 사회가 COVID-19 사태로 인해 개인의 안전과 위생이 중요시 되는 상황에서 공동주택 아파트 입주민의 주거만족도와 주거애호도에 영향을 미치는 공동주택 아파트의 선택 기준을 제안하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 아파트의 선택 기준인 주변 환경, 단지특성, 주택특성, 시공 상태, 관리업무가 주거만족도 및 주거애호도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 서울, 경기 지역에 거주하고 있는 공동주택 입주민들을 대상으로 약 2주간 설문조사를 실시하여 수집한 455부의 응답을 최종 분석하였으며, 연구 결과에 따른 논의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공동주택 선택 기준인 주변 환경, 단지특성, 시공 상태, 관리업무 요인들이 주거애호도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 공동주택 선택 기준인 주변 환경, 단지특성, 주택특성, 시공 상태 요인들이 주거만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공동주택의 주거만족도는 주거애호도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 아파트의 선택 기준인 주변 환경, 단지특성, 주택특성, 시공 상태와 주거애호도의 관계에서만 주거만족도에 대한 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a set of criteria for multi-household residential apartments that affect the housing satisfaction and housing affection of apartment residents as personal safety and hygiene are valued due to COVID-19 in South Korea. For this purpose, the researcher intends to examine the impact of the criteria of the selection of apartments, such as the surrounding environment, characteristics of the compound, housing characteristics, construction integrity, and management on housing satisfaction and housing affection. For this study, the researcher conducted a survey of the residents of multi-household residences in Seoul and the Gyeonggi region over two weeks. A total of 445 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, and the discussion based on the findings of this study is as follows; First, the selection criteria for multi-household residences, such as the surrounding environment, characteristics of the compound, construction integrity, and management all had a significant impact on housing affection. Second, the selection criteria for multi-household residences, such as the surrounding environment, characteristics of the compound, characteristics of the houses, construction integrity, and management, all had a significant impact on housing satisfaction. Third, the housing satisfaction with multi-household residences turned out to have a significant impact on housing affection. Fourth, the mediating effect of housing satisfaction was significant only in the relationships between housing affection and the selection criteria for apartments, such as the surrounding environment, characteristics of the compound, characteristics of the houses, and construction integrity.

Although acute COVID-19 usually lasts for 12 weeks from the onset of symptoms, some patients experience variable persistent symptoms. Post-COVID-19 syndrome is defined as persistent symptoms and/or long-term complications that appear during or after COVID-19, persist for more than 12 weeks, and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis. The common symptoms of post-COVID-19 syndrome include general, pulmonary, hematological, cardiovascular, neuropsychiatric, renal, endocrine, gastroenterological, and dermatological symptoms. As the natural course and pathophysiology of COVID-19 are not yet clear, close monitoring is needed for various sequelae in multiple organs that occur in post-COVID-19 syndrome. In particular, patients who have been hospitalized in the intensive care unit or who have recovered from severe COVID-19 require close monitoring for the development of post-COVID-19 syndrome. Multidisciplinary collaboration is essential to provide integrated outpatient care for patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. (Korean J Med 2022;97:284-291)
