본 연구는 성인 발달장애인 부모의 사회적 지지와 돌봄 부담과의 관계에서 장애수용의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 2023년 11월 10일부터 약 1개월 간 제주특별자치도에 거주하고 있는 성인 발달장애인 부모 261명을 대상으로 오프라인과 온라인 조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 불성실한 응답 18부를 제외한 243부를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석 방법으로는 SPSS 23.0을 활용하여 조절효과를 검증하였다. 분석에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인 발달장애인 부모의 사회적 지지 중 가족지지와 국가지원과 지역사회지지는 돌봄 부담에 부적인 영향을 미쳤고, 장애 자녀를 둔 부모 지지는 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 가족지지와 국가지원과 지역사회지지가 높을수록 돌봄 부담이 낮아지고, 장애 자녀를 둔 부모 지지가 높을수록 돌봄 부담이 높아진다. 둘째, 성인 발달장애인 부모의 사회적 지지(가족지지, 장애 자녀를 둔 부모지지)가 돌봄 부담과의 관계에서 장애수용의 조절효과를 보였다. 즉, 성인 발달장애인 부모의 사회적 지지가 높을수록 돌봄에 대한 부담이 낮아지며 이러한 관계에서 장애 자녀에 대한 장애수용이 높아짐에 따라 돌봄 부담 수준이 낮아진다는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 성인 발달장애인 부모의 돌봄 부담을 완화하고 자녀의 장애에 대한 수용을 높여 삶의 질 향상을 위한 방안에 대해 실천 및 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

This study examined the moderating effect of disability acceptance in the relationship between social support and caring burden of parents with adult developmental disabilities. To this end, data were collected through offline and online surveys of 261 parents with adult developmental disabilities living in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for about one month from November 10, 2023, and 243 copies were used for analysis, excluding 18 insincere responses. As an analysis method, SPSS 23.0 was used to verify the moderating effect. The research results according to the analysis are as follows. First, among the social support of parents with adult developmental disabilities, family support, state support, and community support had a negative effect on the caring burden, and parental support with disabilities had a positive effect. In other words, the higher the family support, state support, and community support, the lower the caring burden, and the higher the support for parents with children with disabilities, the higher the caring burden. Second, the social support of parents with adult developmental disabilities (family support, parental support with children with disabilities) showed a moderating effect of disability acceptance in relation to the caring burden. In other words, the higher the social support of parents with adult developmental disabilities, the lower the burden of caring, and in this relationship, the higher the acceptance of disabilities for children with disabilities, the lower the level of caring burden. Based on these results, action and policy suggestions were presented for ways to improve the quality of life by easing the burden of caring for parents with adult developmental disabilities and increasing the acceptance of children's disabilities.
