이 연구는 건축이 자연과 밀접하게 연결되어 있지만, 이러한 연결을 정확히 이해하는 데는 어려움이있다는 점에서 20세기에 등장한 ‘유기적 건축’이 중요한 역할을 한다. 유기적 건축은 자연에서 영감을받은 디자인 아이디어를 통해 건축과 자연의 연결 관계를 탐구하는 것으로 이를 통해 우리는 두 영역사이의 상호작용을 더 깊게 이해할 수 있게 되는 것을 배경으로 한다. 이 연구는 피터 줌터의 작품에서 나타나는 유기적 전체성의 특성을 분석하여 유기적 건축이 현대 사회 발전에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지를 알아보고 효과적인 공간 구성을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법은문헌 연구, 사례 분석 등을 통해 공간의 유기성과 전체성이 공간에서 어떻게 구현되는지 연구하는 것이다. 먼저, 유기성을 분석한 뒤, 이를 바탕으로 전체성을 탐구하여, 유기적 전체성에 관한 개념을 분석하고 주요 키워드를 도출한다. 이후, 선행 연구를 통해 유기적 키워드를 상세히 분류하고 종합 정리하여 공간적 일체화, 자연과의 상호보완성, 형태적 적응성 세 가지 유형의 유기적 전체성의 특성을 도출한다. 연구 결과는 사례 분석을 통해 피터 줌터의 공간에서 나타나는 유기적 전체성을 객관적으로입증하며, 사례 분석의 범위는 피터 줌터가 참여한 작품 중 유기적 특성이 잘 구현된 건축물을 대상으로 한다. 각 속성을 통해 공간 구성 방식의 특성을 이해하고 적용할 수 있음을 확인했다. 공간의 다양화로 인해 사람들은 유기적 공간에 대한 독특한 이해를 갖게 되었고, 건축 공간의 외부 요소 간의 상호 연결에 대한 요구가 더욱 강해졌다. 피터 줌터의 작품 분석을 통해 건축물이 유기성을 가지면서 주변 요소들과 연결되어 전체를 형성하는 것을 확인했다. 본 연구는 향후 유기적 공간 개발을 위한 이론적 기반을 마련할 것으로 기대되며, 다양한 사례를 체계적으로 분류하고 정량적으로 분석하여 구체화하는 연구가 지속될 것을 기대한다. 또한, 본 연구가 유기적 공간 연구 분야에 적용되길 기대한다.

The study recognizes that architecture is intimately connected to nature, but that there arechallenges in understanding this connection, therefore “organic architecture” emerged in 20thcenturyplays an important role. Organic architecture explores the connection betweenarchitecture and nature through design ideas inspired by nature, we can better understand theinteraction between the two areas. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics oforganic totality in Peter Zumter’s work to find out how organic architecture can be applied to thedevelopment of modern society. The research method is to study how the organicity and totalityof space are implemented in space through literature research and case analysis. First, afteranalyzing organicity, based on this, the totality is explored, the concept of organic totality isanalyzed, and the main keywords are derived. After that, through prior research, organickeywords are classified and synthesized in detail to derive the characteristics of three types oforganic totality: spatial integration, complementarity with nature, and morphological adaptability. The results objectively prove the organic totality that appears in Peter Zumter’s space throughcase analysis, and the scope of the case analysis is for buildings with well-implemented organiccharacteristics among the works in which Peter Zumter participated. It was confirmed that thecharacteristics of the spatial composition method can be understood and applied through eachattribute. Due to the diversification of space, the demand for interconnections between externalelements of space has become strong. Through the analysis of Peter Zumter’s work, it wasconfirmed that the building has organic properties and is connected to surrounding elements toform the whole. This study is expected to lay the theoretical foundation for future organic spacedevelopment, and it is expected that the research that systematically classifies and quantitativelyanalyzes various cases and concretizes them will continue. In addition, it is hoped that this studywill be applied to the field of organic space research.
