이 연구는 중국 하남성 당하현 흑룡진 지역의 세 곳 마을을 현지 조사 하였으며, 이에 근거하여 촌락단위 공동체 형성과 기능을 밝히려 했다. 중국에서 마을공동체에 내재한 전통문화는 마을주민의 안정된 삶에 큰영향을 미쳤으며, 마을단위의 공동체 형성?유지에도 상당한 의미를 던졌다. 중국에서 촌락단위의 농촌마을은 마을에 내재된 고유문화를 재현하였으며,그런 고유문화의 활성화를 통해 마을단위의 공동체를 형성할 수 있었다. 우장촌마을은 민속무의 재조명과 재현을 통해 잃어버린 문화마을 만들기에 접근할 수 있었다. 민속무의 재조명은 ‘떠나는’ 마을에서 ‘찾아오는’ 마을로의 전환을 가능하게 하였고, 이어 하남성 특색을 넘어 중원문 화의 자랑거리로 복원할 수 있었다. 장촌마을은 민간악단 구성을 통해 전통문화를 재조명하였고, 또 주민 간 화합의 장을 마련할 수 있었다. 민담을 소재로 한 지역축제는 전통의 재조명과 함께 마을주민의 단합과 자부심을 고양할 수 있었다. 송영촌마을은 송나라 때부터 전승되어오는 양씨집안 이야기를 노래와 공연으로 담아내고 있었고, 이에 의해 전통이 살아 있는 문화마을을 조성할 수 있었다. 민속무 공연은 가족과 지역가치의 전승에 이바지했고, 나아가 국가차원의 공동체적 가치로 승화할 수 있었다. 요컨대, 전통과 문화에 토대한 마을단위 공동체 형성은 중국 농촌사회의 중요한 특징으로 볼 수 있었다.

This paper conducted a field survey of three villages in Heilongzhen, Tangha County, Henan Province, China. This paper tried to clarify how village community was formed and functioned. The results were as follows. The traditional culture inherent in the village community has had a profound effect on the lives of villagers, and also has great significance in the formation and maintenance of community at the village level. Villages reproduced the village-specific culture inherent in each village, and such indigenous culture had a great influence on the formation of inhabitant community. Woojang Village was able to succeed in building a lost village community through the re-enacting and representation of folk dance. The reactivation of folk dance played an important role in the transition from the “leave” village to the “return” village, which was restored the pride of Chinese Midland Culture. In Jangchon Village, the researcher was able to re-examine the traditional culture through the composition of folk orchestra, which provides an important opportunity for harmony among the residents. In Songyoungchon Village, the story of Yang’s family was revealed, and has been handed down since the Song Dynasty. In addition, through these performances, this village tried to foster an environment where tradition and culture live. Folk songs and folk dances influenced the transmission of family and local values, and also played a major role in the formation of community values at the national level. In short, the formation of a village-based cultural community based on tradition and culture can be seen as an important feature of Chinese rural society.
