Human's artistic creative activities have been expressed through natural beauty. Among nature's creatures, bird is the subject of admiration and mystery because birds can fly freely in the sky and images of birds was an inspiration to a lot of artists. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to suggest to the basic data of the creative makeup design and studied fantasy makeup design with motif on the bird image for this purpose. The study collected data from domestic books and theses about birds and fantasy makeup. Based on this, produced four fantasy makeup works. Painting techniques could shape the feathers and applying a materials such as glitter, shimmer powder was effective in texture representation of the feather. This study could find out that the best formative material of birds is a feather through the work production process and the result. Various colors and types of wired wing feathers extend to the wing and shows the symbolic image of freedom and hopes. In addition, formative and the symbolism that appears in the image of birds has possibility of creating versatile makeup design. But this study has a limit that it made limited works focusing on the images of birds. Therefore, create artistic and formative image, theoretical and empirical studies should be conducted constantly from various angels.
