이 논문은 오월 시학의 본격적인 논의를 위한 시론으로 작성되었다. 1980년 5월 18일부터 27일까지 열흘간 광주에서 펼쳐진 일련의 행위 전체를 ‘열흘의 공동체’로 상정하고 논의를 전개하였다. 열흘의 공동체는 문학 공동체와 매우 흡사하다. 열흘의 공동체를 이루는 언어는 특별한 의미가 주어지기 전의 근원적인 상태의 것이라는 점에 주목했다. 이 언어에 가장 근접할 수 있는 언어는 시적 언어이다. 오월의 언어가 지닌 시적 긴장은 아포리아를 통해 형성된다는 것이 오월 시학의 핵심 원리이다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 오월 시학의 구조와 역동적인 면모를 김준태의 시 「아아, 광주여, 우리나라의 십자가여」를 통해 확인했다. 1980년 6월 2일 일간지에 발표된 이 시는 열흘의 공동체의 언어가 채 지워지지 않은 시간과 장소에서 창작되었다. 오월 언어의 연장선상이라고 해도 무리가 없을 것으로 판단했다. 이 시의 분석을 통해 순환을 통한 구조의 입체화, 주체의 다양성 지향, 의미의 미결정성 등을 주로 탐색했다. 사실에 기초한 5․18에 관한 논의들은 이데올로기적으로 매우 경직되어 있는 실정이다. 5․18을 역사적 맥락으로만 파악하려는 시선에서 벗어날 때 논의는 좀 더 다채로워질 수 있다. 이를 위해서 열흘의 공동체가 지닌 시원성, 언어의 원터로서의 특성 등에 새롭게 주목할 필요가 있다. 오월과 관련된 논의들이 다채롭게 확장하기 위해서는 먼저 언어적 기반이 탄탄하게 다져져야 한다. 오월 시학이 지향해야할 일차적 목표는 오월 언어에 대한 엄밀한 탐색이 될 것이다.

This study is the beginning writing for real study of The may-poetic. I have developed a discussion after the assumption that ‘Ten days of community’ that was built May 18-May 28 in Gwang-ju had been the fountainhead of poetic language. The ten days community is similar in nature the literary community. In the other hand, one of the important issues should return to the original condition of the situation before it is given a particular meaning. The poetic language formed poetic tension through aporia. This is very point that the May-poetic will be exploring. Discussion went to actual analysis of work 「Ah Gwangju, the cross of my country」 beyond navigation of the theory. This poem has double structure dividing into three. We are able to try the colorful interpretations for this steric configuration. In this study, I was focused on the aspect of the topic of those. The first theme is ‘death and resurrection’ that take place on the outside of the outside of the community. The second theme is self destruction and creation that take place on the outside of inside of the community (self-community). The third theme is ‘knot and annealing’ that take place on a boundary between outside of outside and outside of inside. Discourses of 5․18 were already strong. I think that the ideological discourse that is related to the 518 was disconstructed and should revive to the original condition of the situation. I hope for this study to contribute to the starting point in colorful literary-discourse.
