UCI I410-ECN-0102-2008-450-002255103

Litter bags containing l0g of Carpinus cordata placed during mid-April in a 1st- and 4th-order streams draining the southeastern slope of Mt. Jumbong. Most leaf litter were processed by the late-June and leaf breakdown rates (-k ±95% CI) were -0.043±0.0100/day in the 1st-order stream and -0.039±0.0105/day in the 4th-order stream. The number of taxa colonizing litter bags was similar between streams. The number of individuals per bag was greater in the 1st-order stream, largely due to Copepoda. Among shredder functional feeding group, Gammarus, which appeared almost exclusively in the 1st-order stream, and Goerodes seemed to be the most important taxa in the 1st- and 4th-order streams, respectively.
