A comparison was made between the species of the genus Coreoperca from Korea based on allozyme variations at 25 protein coding loci. An estimate of Nei`s unbiased genetic differentiation (D=0.321) within a single species was high between the Han River and the Naktong River populations of C, herzi. Obtained D value between the Korean and Japanese populations of C. kawamebari was 0.351.
