The distribution of the lipids in the water of Anyang stream was investigated at 13 sites twice on May 29th and September 25th 1983, by using GC/MS and GC. According to the experimental results, coprostanol was detected significantly from the all sites which were examined. Somehow this suggests that Anyang stream was polluted with human waste. The concentration of cholesterol was higher than that of coprostanol in the water of Anyang stream, so it indicated that the stream was severely polluted not only with human waste but also sewerage. Furthermore, the components of animal or plant oil such as palmitate, stearate, and oleate were detected significantly in this stream water, also it seem to be certificated again the pollution of this stream by the sewerage water.
