Two species of the genus Tribolodon(Cyprinidae), T. hakonensis(Gu¨nther, 1880) and T. brandti(Dybowskii, 1872), were collected from 25 stations on 24 rivers out of 43 sampling stations on 38 rivers flowing into the east and south sea of Korea. These two speciea are distinguished mostly by the character state of the cephalic lateral-line system, spawning color patern, and some meristic characters. The rivers from which the two species were newly recorded are Chinkyo river, Chintong river, Hoeya river, Yongtok-Oship river, Songchon river, Kakok river, My ngpa river and Songhy n river for T. hakonensis, and Chuksan river, Kungchon river and Songch n river for T. brandti. Reviewing the systematics of T. brandti, the authors suggested that the frequently employed name "taczanowskii" was a synonym of the initiative name "brdndti". New Korean name "Taewhango" was proposed for T. brandti, and the traditional name "Whango" was restricted to T. hakonensis.
