1. Distribution and population density of Lamprotula coreana and L. gottschei on the beds of the Han River were investigated between July and October, 1969. 2. L. coreana and L. gottschei were distributed widely over the northern parts of Paldang and Kwangjang areas where the relative stable states of beds were maintained under slow stream. 3. Relative narrow distributions of two species were found at the northern parts of Dukso and at the southern parts of Soosuk area, where the speed of current of stream was rapid. 4. Among 22 stations of survey areas, the highest population of L. coreana was 4.3/㎡ and that of L. gottschei was 5.1/㎡ at the Station 19 of Kwangjang area. 5. The population density of L. gottschei was higher than that of L. coreana at all stations. 6. It is considered that the distribution and population density of L. coreana and L. gottschei are closely related to the conditions of the speed of water current and bed states in a comparison between bivalve habitats and nonhabitats.
