Forty eight pregnant sows were arranged with completely randomized design into 4 treatments, 0, 5, 10 and 15% animal fat levels in the late gestation and lactation diets, with 12 sows per treatment to measure survival rate and weaning weight of piglets and days of estrus return of sows post-weaning. Birth weight and survival rate from birth to weaning were not different when the different levels of animal fat were added in late gestation and lactation diets. Body weight at 14 and 28 days (weaning) were higher in diet containing fat and the highest value was at 5% fat level (p$lt;0.05). This figures were 9.8% improvement in body weight at 14 days and 11.5% improvement at 28 days over the control. Percentages of estrus return before 7 days post-weaning were 75%o, 83%, 91% and 83% of the total sows for 0, 5, 10 and 15% animal fat levels in the diet, thus showing much higher percentages in sows fed animal fat, especially in 10% aminal fat level.
