Effect of heavy application at late spring on the regrowth at each cutting was studied in three orchardgrass varieties with different earliness. The results are obtained as follows; 1, Nitrogen application at early spring was affected to increasing the dry matter yield of the Sb + R (stubble + root) in C-1 (first cutting). 2. Regrowth yield of Lb + LS (leaf blade and leaf sheaths + stem) increased more than the Sb + R in C-2 (second cutting), it were 82.5%, 88.6% and 69.1% to the total regrowth yield in Chinook, Kitsunidori and S143, respectively. 3. Regrowth yield of Sb + R were 50.0%, 61.4% and 47.1% of Chinook, Kitamidori and S143 in C-3 (third cutting.) 4. The variety with high regrowth yield of Sb + R which had a higher regrowth yield of Lb + LS than those of varieties with low regrowth yield of Sb + R in each cutting. 5. Chinook and Kitamidori showed a high relative dry matter yield in C-3 and S143 in C-2, respectively. 6. Average increase in dry matter production were 20.288, 25.01g and 15.588 DM/g N in Chinook, Kitamidori and S143, respectively.
