A Research on the Actual State of Consumers for Demand Creation of Rabbit Meat

To Great the demand of rabbit meat, we acquired following results from researching and analyzing the actual state of consumers. 1. Only 58.2 percent of housewives have ever eaten rabbit meat. 1More than a half of them have taken it at home for medicinal use (54.7%). Only a few have taken it for food in daily life (36.7%). Most of them consider that it has a eery good taste (73.5%). But many housewives (53.6%) don`t realize about the good points of rabbit meat yet. 2. There are a number of reasons why people dislike to eat rabbit meat: the unpleasant feeling (36.8%), no experience to have ever eaten it (27.3%), difficulty to buy it (22.7%), and no knowledge how to cook it (12.3%). 3. If we let the housewives know the good points of rabbit meat, that is, if they know rabbit meat is worth to be treated as an excellent food, most of them (80.9%) will become customers of rabbit meat, and then if we find how to cook it well, much more rabbit meat will be consumed. Furthermore, improving of the marketing system of rabbit meat is necessary. 4. The consumers assert that the reasonable price of rabbit meat should be equal with that of the pork or the chicken (44.5%), or should be cheaper than that(43.6%). And it is necessary to found the grading system of rabbit meat.
