In order to evaluate palatability and grazing endurance of grasses, seven native grass species and two pasture grasses were drilled and the above characters were measured by Korean native cows from August to October, 1973. 1. Among the grass species tested, Paspalum dilatatum, Andropogon micranthus and Panicum coloratum showed the highest palatability, but Pennisetum japonica gave the lowest value. 2. Under heavy treading, grasses tolerance order, from most to least, was: Paspalum thunbergii, Paspalum dilatatum, Pennisetum japonica, Panicum coloratum, Andropogon micranthus, Arundinella hirta, Spodiopogon cotulifer and S. sibiricus. 3. It was indicated that there was no native grass species superior to the pasture grasses in both palatability and grazing endurance in this experiment.
