This experiment was carried out to investigate the proper period of sowing about three southern type major grasses-Sae (Arun. hir.) Gyuryong (Erag. ferr.) and Nadogirumsae (Both. par.) through March to August, 1970. The sowing period was divided into six period as following; April 8, April 15, April 25, May 5, May 15 and May 25, respectively. The results obtained here were as follows: 1. When the period of sowing was delayed, the growing was poor and also the yield was greatly decreased, 2. The proper time of seeding for Sae (Arun, hir.) and Nadogirumsae (Both. par.) was the midst of April. Also the yield and length of those grasses was greatly improved at this period. Thereafter, it was found that the yield of those grasses was significantly decreased. 3. Gyuryong (Erag. ferr.) seeded at the beginning of April was significantly increased :in the yield of that grass. However, as the sowing period went by, the yield was greatly .decreased. 4. It was suitable for the sowing period for southern type native grasses to seed from the beginning of April to the midst of April in the southern part of Korea (especially Jinju).
