During the period of 84 days. from May 26, 1967 to August 18, 1967 an experiment was conducted at Agricultural College of Seoul National University to compare the effects of D.E.S. implantation on the growth rate and carcass of growing rabbits which were common castrated, partial castrated, uncastrated and female In this experiment, 35 heads of 60 day-old rabbit were divided into 7 groups. as mentioned above. The results were summarized as follows; 1) In daily gains, both groups of partial and common castration implanted D.E.S. showed higher weight gain (p$lt;0.05) than groups not implanted D.E.S.. Uncastration group implanted D.E.S. showed the least weight gain. 2) In dressing percentage. no significant difference was observed between partial castration and D.E.S. implantation, however, groups implanted D.E.S. were low. 3) In lean meat percentage, partial castration (32.16%) and female (34.82%) were the best (p$lt;0.01) and uncastration (26.7%) was the worst. All groups implanted D.E.S. were higher then without D.E.S. 4) In vicera weight percentage uncastration D.E.S. groups (33.94%) was higher (p$lt;0.05) than common castration group (28.7%) and partial castration group was intermediate (29.9%) 5) In head weight percentage, uncastration group (12.68%) and female group (12.72%) showed the highest percentage (p$lt;0.05) and the next was partial group; common castration group (10.94%) showed the lowest percentage. Hence, it is considered that the removing of reproductive gland and D.E.S. treatment makes head weight lighter. 6) Significant difference among lice weight was not observed among lots. Hence D.E.S. implantation seems to effect not so much on the changing liver. 7) In adrena and other organs, fat accumulation was hardly found except little extent in female rabbit. It is clear that D.E.S. treatment could not effect significantly on fat deposition in animal body.
