Three lines of Italian honeybee colonies were tested and compared with each other in performance. Three lines used were A-line from Chinju Agricultural College, B-line from Livestock Experiment Station, and C-line, which was a variant. Wintering, egg laying, brooding, swarming, combing, honey production, rob-bing, diseases and insects resistency, and economical evaluation were investigated. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Winter loss was more in B-line than in A-line (P$lt;00,1) and in C-line (P$lt;0.05). 2) There were no significant differences between lines in egg laying, brooding, swarming, combing, summer loss. 3) Honey production was averaged 14,044 g by A-line, 8,350 g by B-line and 9,822 g by C-line. It was found that significantly more honey was produced by A-line than B-line(P$lt;0.05). 4) There was no appreciable differences in robbing, and disease and insect resistancy of honeybees between the lines, but one of the colonies in both B-line and C-line was suffered from nosema disease. 5) Income from the honeybee colonies during the experimental period eras estimated, by index, 100 from A-line, 71 from B-line and 63 from C-line. 6) It was considered that the honeybees of B-line might be lower in the morphological characteristics and performance.
