Adenosine 5`- triphosphate(ATP) is one of most important high energy compounds as the biological energy in living organism. Also, many enzymatic processes require the availability of an energy supply (ATP). But ATP is expensive to use in vitro for the enzyme technology application. Unless any method is found to conserve ATP, industrial processes will be uneconomical. Therefore, it is necessary to design systems for regeneration of ATP in order to use such enzymes economically in bioreactor systems. In the present study, for the retention and regeneration of ATP in membrane reactor, ATP analogues and dextran-bound ATP were synthesized. The coenzymatic activities of ATP derivatives for hexokinase were compared with that of free ATP. In addition. the possibility of recycling of ATP was examined using dextranbound ATP in membrane reactors(ultrafiltration reactor and hollow fiber reactor), which contain all of the enzymes responsible for glucose 6-phosphate synthesis and ATP regeneration.
