The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of problem solving activities through the fairy tale stories on the creativity of the young children and the facts of the creativity. The following questions were set for the above purpose. 1. What is the effectiveness of problem solving activities through the fairy tale story on the creativity of young children? 2. What is the effectiveness of problem solving activities through the fairy tale story on the facts of the creativity? 40 children of S-Kindergarten in Taegu were selected as the subject of this study. They were divided into two groups of 20 each the experimental group and the comparative group. The experimental group did the problem solving action after listening to the fairy tale, while the comparative one just listened to the fairy tale. "The Torrance Test of Creative Thinking Figural " that the validity and the reliance were verified by Choi Seong-youn was used for the creativity test. The result of this study is as follows; 1. The experimental group showed statistically significant(meaningful) differences in the creativity of young children from the comparative one. 2. The experimental group showed statistically significant(meaningful) differences in fluency, flexibility and originality from the comparative one, but showed little difference in elaborateness.
