본 논문은 『삼국유사』 속 용 서사를 AI 기반 텍스트 마이닝으로 재해석하여, 문화적 충돌·융합·공존의 변천 과정을 디지털 인문학적 시각에서 분석하였다. 초기의 용은 건국 신화와 수신(水神) 신앙 속에서 왕권 정당화와 생명 신앙을 담지했으나, 독룡과 같은 부정적 요소는 외래 신앙과의 충돌 가능성을 내포하였다. 중기에는 불교 수용과 함께 호법룡·호국룡으로 재편되어 ‘용, 왕, 불법, 호국’이라는 새로운 의미망이 형성되었으며, 긍정적 감성이 압도적으로 강화되었다. 후기 수로부인·거타지 설화에서는 이무기가 재등장하여 부정적 정서와 지역적 신앙을 반영하였다. 빈도 분석, 연관어 네트워크, 감성 분석 결과, 용의 의미망은 시대에 따라 왕권·불교·민간신앙을 매개하며 집단 기억과 망각을 동시에 형성해 왔다. 본 연구에서 사용한 텍스트 마이닝이라는 용어는 디지털 인문학적 연구 맥락에서 AI 기반 텍스트 분석 방법을 포괄적으로 지칭하는 개념으로 한정하여 사용하였다. 본 연구는 『삼국유사』 신화 해석에 디지털 인문학적 방법을 접목하여, 전통적 신화 연구의 지평을 확장하고 현대적 문화콘텐츠 활용 가능성을 제시한다.

This study reinterprets the dragon narratives in Samguk Yusa through AI-Based text mining, analyzing the transformation process of cultural conflict, integration, and coexistence from a digital humanities perspective. In the early period, dragons were embedded in foundation myths and water-deity beliefs, legitimizing royal authority and symbolizing vitalistic faith, while negative figures such as the “poisonous dragon” implied potential conflicts with foreign religions. In the middle period, with the acceptance of Buddhism, dragons were reconfigured as Dharma-protecting and nation-protecting dragons, forming a new semantic network of “dragon, king, Dharma, protection,” with overwhelmingly strengthened positive sentiments. In the late period, narratives such as the Lady Suro and Geotaji tales reintroduce the imugi (serpentine dragon), reflecting negative emotions and local beliefs. Frequency analysis, co-occurrence networks, and sentiment analysis reveal that the semantics of dragons mediated royal power, Buddhism, and folk religion over time, shaping both collective memory and forgetting. This research applies digital humanities methodologies to the interpretation of Samguk Yusa, broadening the horizon of traditional mythological studies and suggesting potential applications for contemporary cultural content.
