기존의 공생은 현대예술장신구 분야에서 생태적 주제 및 재료 은유적 차원으로만 활용되고 있었기에, 이를 구체적인 조형원리로 도출하고 작품의 분석 도구로써의 적용은 상대적으로 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 들뢰즈·가타리의 환경철학을 기반으로 공생적 미학을 발견하고, 현대예술장신구의 조형언어로 확장하기 위한 이론적 기틀을 마련하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 먼저, 환경철학을 통해 공생 관계를 외부·내부·매개·연합환경에 따라 분석하여, 환경들이 현대예술장신구의 조형 구조와 어떠한 상호 관계를 형성하는지 고찰했다. 이에 이론 분석을 바탕으로 공생의 조형을 도식화하고, 조형언어에 대해서 다음과 같이 도출해 보았다. 공생의 조형은 여러 요소들의 결합만이 아닌, 외부환경의 잠재된 에너지를 가진 재료와 그 물성, 내부환경에서 중첩 등과 같은 특정 규칙화, 이질적 요소들을 연결하는 매개환경, 최종적으로 복합적 구조를 나타내는 연합환경이 있었다. 이를 기반으로 적용 가능한 현대예술장신구의 작품사례를 분석했다. 연구 결과, 재료의 물성적 결합, 상호의존에 의한 공생, 신체 및 사물 간의 관계 결성이라는 세 가지의 공생적 조형 원리를 도출했다. 현대예술장신구의 작가는 외부 재료를 포획하고 내부환경에서 조형 규칙을 조직하는 매개자로 기능하며, 장신구는 착용자의 신체 혹은 사물과 상호관계를 통해 새로운 감각적 경험을 확장하는 연합환경의 결과물 및 공생적 주체임을 규명했다. 본 연구는 공생적 미학을 구축함으로써 현대예술장신구의 조형적 표현 영역을 확장하고, 나아가 공예·디자인 분야에서 공생이 조형 분석 도구로 활용될 가능성을 제시했음에 의의가 있다.
In contemporary art jewelry, symbiosis has primarily been limited to ecological themes and metaphors, leaving a gap in its application as a concrete sculptural principle. Accordingly, this study establishes a theoretical framework to integrate symbiotic aesthetics into jewelry’s sculptural language, grounded in Deleuze and Guattari’s philosophy of milieu. By analyzing symbiotic relationships through extérieur, intérieur, intermédiaire, and associé milieus, the research examines their interaction with sculptural structures. This reveals that symbiotic form involves not only material combination but also the latent energy of substances and rule-based internal organization, linked through the intermediary milieu to manifest as a complex associated structure. Based on these theoretical findings, the study schematizes applicable symbiotic forms and utilizes them as a structured framework for case analysis. Through this analysis of contemporary art jewelry, three core principles were identified: material combination, interdependent formation, and relational interaction. The findings indicate that the jeweler acts as a mediator who captures external materials and organizes internal rules, while the jewelry emerges as a result of the associated milieu that expands sensory experiences through the body or objects. Ultimately, this study expands the realm of sculptural expression and demonstrates the potential of symbiosis as a formative analytical tool for craft and design.
