This paper examines the process and role of Dosan Seowon's publishing activities in forming and expanding the Yeongnam Intellectual Network, which was dedicated to commemorating the academic achievements of Toegye Yi Hwang (李滉). Dosan Seowon possessed an overwhelmingly large number of woodblocks among the seowon (Confucian academies) in the Gyeongsang region during the Joseon dynasty. By publishing various books, including literary collections and Confucian texts, it functioned as a hub for knowledge production and distribution, going beyond its simple role as an educational and memorial institution. Dosan Seowon's publishing made possible the genealogy of knowledge centered on Yi Hwang and his academic lineage. Through the publication of works such as the Collected Works of Toegye (퇴계선생문집), it played a crucial role in establishing the academic identity of the Toegye School and canonizing Yi Hwang's doctrines. Furthermore, Dosan Seowon actively cooperated with or intervened in the content of publishing projects undertaken by other seowon and hyanggyo (local schools), thereby expanding academic solidarity among local Confucian scholars and contributing to the formation of a local public sphere. The influence of this intellectual network led to socio-political practices such as the Maninso (萬人疏, ten thousand-man petition) movement, demonstrating that Dosan Seowon functioned as a moral authority and a focal point for public opinion in the region.
