한국은 고령화 사회를 넘어 고령 사회를 지나 초고령 사회에 진입하고 있다. 이러한 급격한 고령화는 교회도 예외가 될 수 없다. 무엇보다도 고령화는 설교를 듣는 청중의 구성비에 영향을 주었다. 청중 구성에서 노인 비중이 늘어나게 되었고, 이는 새로운 문제를 가져오게 되었다. 고령화로 나타나는 신체 문제 중 대표적인 것이 청력저하이다. 믿음은 들음에서 난다. 하나님의 백성은 말씀을 듣고 그 말씀으로 성장한다. 그러므로 듣는 과정은 매우 중요하다. 하지만 청력저하는 말씀을 듣는 과정 자체를 어렵게 만든다. 이에 본 논문은 청중의 청력저하 가 설교 상황에 어떤 영향을 주는지 살펴보고 그 대안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 첫 번째, 현재 고령화 상황으로 야기된 청중 구성의 변화와 청력 약화의 상황을 살핀다. 두 번째, 청중의 청력약화가 설교에 어떤 영향을 주었는지 살핀다. 세 번째, 살펴본 상황 분석을 바탕으로 문제 해결을 위한 몇 가지 방안을 제시한다. 청력저하의 해결 방안으로는 음향 시스템의 조정을 통해 고령층 청중들이 설교를 좀 더 분명하게 잘 들을 수 있는 음향 환경을 만들어 주는 것이다. 설교자의 명확한 발음과 속도 등의 조절을 통해서 청중들의 청취에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 또한 언어적 요소의 효과가 약해진 상황에서 비언어적 전달 요소를 적극적으로 활용하여 전달력을 높일 수 있다. 시각자료의 활용을 통해 청력저하의 부족한 부분을 채워줄 수 있다. 그뿐만 아니라 적절한 설교 분량을 통해서 피로도를 느끼지 않을 수 있도록 배려하는 것도 필요하다. 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 보청기의 지원도 하나의 대안이 될 수 있다. 앞으로 한국교회에서 고령화와 이로 인한 청력저하의 문제가 폭넓게 인식되며, 실질적인 방안에 대한 고민과 토론이 더욱 활발히 일어나길 기대한다.
Korea is moving beyond an aging society, passing through an aged society, and entering a super-aged society. This rapid aging cannot spare the church. Above all, aging has affected the composition of the congregation. The proportion of elderly members in the congregation has increased, bringing new challenges. Among the physical issues arising from aging, hearing loss is particularly prominent. Faith comes from hearing the message. God’s people hear His Word and grow through it. Therefore, the process of hearing is crucial. However, hearing loss makes the very act of hearing the Word difficult. This paper examines how the audience's hearing loss impacts the preaching situation and proposes solutions. To this end, first, it examines the changes in audience composition and the situation of hearing impairment caused by the current aging trend. Second, it examines how the audience's hearing impairment affects the preaching. Third, based on the situation analysis, it presents several solutions to address the problem. Solutions for hearing impairment include adjusting the sound system to create an acoustic environment in which elderly listeners can hear the sermon more clearly. The preacher can also aid listeners by adjusting factors like clear articulation and speaking pace. And, in situations where the effectiveness of verbal elements diminishes, actively utilizing nonverbal communication elements can enhance delivery. Visual aids can compensate for the shortcomings of hearing loss. Furthermore, consideration should be given to avoiding fatigue by maintaining an appropriate sermon length. Providing support for hearing aids, which offer practical assistance, can also be an alternative solution.
