본 연구는 유아기 자폐스펙트럼장애(autism spectrum disorder, ASD)와 발달성 언어장애(developmental language disorder, DLD) 간 K-WPPSI-Ⅳ 프로파일 비교를 통해 두 집단의 인지적인 특성에 어떠한 차이가 있는지 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 2020년부터 2024년까지 서울 및 경기도 소재 종합병원 3곳, 정신건강의학과 1곳 및 아동발달센터 3곳에서 ASD 또는 DLD로 진단받은 유아 중 K-WPPSI-IV를 실시한 만 4세에서 6세 유아 74명으로, 전체 IQ, 기본 지표, 추가지표와 소검사 점수의 평균을 기술통계분석하고 ASD와 DLD 유아 간 전체 지표 점수와 소검사 수행의 차이를 비교하기 위해 다변량 공분산분석(Multivariate analysis of covariance; MANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, ASD 유아는 DLD 유아보다 작업기억, 처리속도, 비언어 및 인지효율성 지표가 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮았으며, 동형찾기, 그림기억, 선택하기 및 위치찾기 소검사 점수가 유의미하게 낮았다. 이러한 연구 결과는 신경발달장애인 ASD와 DLD의 진단 및 평가에서 K-WPPSI-IV의 작업기억, 처리속도, 비언어 및 인지효율성 지표가 변별지표로써 활용될 수 있는 근거를 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

This study aims to compare the K-WPPSI-IV profiles of preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental language disorder (DLD) to verify differences in the cognitive characteristics of the two groups. The participants were 74 preschoolers aged 4 to 6 who administered the K-WPPSI-IV and were diagnosed with ASD or DLD at three general hospitals, one private psychiatric clinic, and three child development centers in the Seoul metropolitan area from 2020 to 2024. Descriptive statistical analysis of the means of the FSIQ (Full Scale IQ), Primary Index Scales, Ancillary Index Scales, and subtest scores was performed, and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was conducted to compare the differences between children in early childhood with ASD and DLD. Results indicate that children in early childhood with ASD showed significantly lower Working Memory Index, Processing Speed Index, Nonverbal Index, and Cognitive Proficiency Index than children with DLD. ASD also showed significantly lower scores on the Bug Search, Picture Memory, Cancellation and Zoo Locations. In conclusion, This study provides empirical evidence that the Working Memory, Processing Speed, Nonverbal and Cognitive Proficiency Indices of the K-WPPSI-IV can serve as a differential indicator between ASD and DLD within neurodevelopmental disorders.
