본 연구는 학교 밖 청소년의 사회적 낙인감이 비행에 미치는 영향과 그 경로를 분석하고, 이 과정에서 충동성의 매개효과 및 심리적 지원의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 한국청소년정책연구원에서 구축한 『학업중단 청소년 패널조사』 4차 년도 자료를 활용하여, 총 427명의 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 구조방정식모형(SEM) 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 학교 밖 청소년이 인식한 사회적 낙인감은 충동성에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 사회적 낙인감이 비행으로 이어지는 과정에서 충동성의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 즉, 학교 밖 청소년이 인식한 사회적 낙인감 수준이 높을수록 충동성이 높아지고, 증가된 충동성은 비행 경험을 증가시킨다는 것을 검증하였다. 셋째, 심리적 지원의 유무에 따라 학교 밖 청소년의 사회적 낙인감이 충동성을 통해 비행으로 이어지는 경로의 차이가 유의하게 나타나, 심리적 지원이 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 사회적 낙인감이 충동성을 매개로 비행에 영향을 미치는 경로를 규명하고, 이 과정에서 심리적 지원의 완충적 역할을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로, 학교 밖 청소년의 비행 문제를 해소하기 위한 사회적 낙인 완화와 심리적 지원체계 강화를 위한 제도적·실천적 개입을 제언한다.
This study examines the effect of social stigma on delinquency among out-of-school adolescents and analyzes the mediating role of impulsivity and the moderating role of psychological support in this relationship. Data from the fourth wave of the Panel Survey of School Dropout Youths conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute were utilized, and structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted on a sample of 427 out-of-school adolescents. First, the results indicated that social stigma had a significant positive effect on impulsivity. Secondly, the mediating effect of impulsivity in the relationship between social stigma and delinquency was confirmed. It was verified that higher levels of perceived social stigma lead to increased impulsivity, and this heightened impulsivity in turn increases the likelihood of delinquent behavior. Thirdly, multi-group analysis showed differences in the pathway from stigma to delinquency through impulsivity depending on the presence of psychological support, verifying the moderating effect of psychological support. This study identified the pathway through which social stigma influences delinquency via impulsivity and confirmed the protective role of psychological support. Based on these findings, the study suggests institutional and practical interventions aimed at alleviating social stigma and strengthening psychological support systems in order to address delinquency among out-of-school adolescents.
