본 연구는 사랑의 종류와 부모애에 대하여 고찰한 후 행위소 모형을 통해 각 영화의 사건 주체자의 목표 대상과 상황 요소들을 추출하여 분석한 다음 이를 기저로 롤랑바르트의 함축의미와 신화 이론을 활용하여 각 메인 포스터에 담긴 시각기호의 함의를 통해 각 캐릭터들에 내재된 그 함의와 신화를 밝히려는 시도였다. 그 비교 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 영화 마더의 엄마는 모성애/헌신적 사랑을 토대로 아들의 상황에 적극 개입하고 있었다. 이에 반해 실종의 아빠는 부성애/헌신적 사랑이 있는데 여기에 물애(돈)가 추가되어 있었다. 행위소모형의 추구 대상에도 두 사람은 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 마더의 엄마는 무조건 아들의 구조였다. 이는 엄마가 없는 대체자의 등장으로 일단 성공하게 된다. 그러나 이에 비해 실종의 아빠는 추구 대상이 가정의 부양이었다. 그의 시도는 아이러니하게도 올곧은 딸의 저항에 부딪혀 실패하게 된다. 이 내용을 기저로 두 영화 주동 캐릭터들의 함의와 신화를 분석한 결과 한국 마더의 엄마 캐릭터에는 외골수와 왜곡된 모정이 아들에게는 정신 지체아와 불완전한 자아라는 신화가 내재되어 있었고 일본 실종의 아빠 캐릭터에는 어수룩함과 뒤틀린 부정이 딸에게는 불안한 중학생과 강한 생활력이라는 신화가 내재되어 있었다.
This study examined the types of love and parental love Using the Modele Actantial. the study extracted and analyzed the targets and situational elements of the protagonists of each film. Then using Roland Barthes's theories of connotation and myth. it attempted to uncover the connotations and myths inherent in each character based on the visual symbols contained in each main poster. The results of the comparison are as follows. First, the mother in Mother actively intervenes in her son's situation based on maternal/devoted love. In contrast, the father in Missing possesses paternal/devoted love but with the added element of money. The two men also showed significant differences in the object of their pursuits within Modele Actantial. The mother in Mother sought her son's survival. This pursuit was initially successful due to the emergence of a substitute for the mother. However, in contrast, the father in Missing sought to support the family. Ironically his attempts met with resistance from his upright daughter and ultimately failed. Based on these results the analysis of the implications and myths of the two main characters in the films revealed that the mother character in the Korean film Mother contained the myth of a single-minded and distorted maternal love, and that her son was a mentally retarded child with an incomplete self while the father character in the Japanese film Missing contained the myth of a clumsy and twisted denial and that her daughter was an anxious middle school student with strong vitality.
