본 연구의 목적은 유아 대상 지속가능발전 지향 환경교육 동영상 55편에 대한 내용분석을 통해 해당 동영상의 특징과 활용 방안을 제시하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 동영상의 일반적인 특징(유형, 길이, 전달 주체), 내용(주제, 인지적 내용, 사회정서적 내용, 행동적 내용), 그리고 유아 대상 전달 방법(내용구조, 언어적 표현, 흥미 유발을 위한 부가적인 시각 및 청각 요소)을 분석하였으며, 빈도와 백분율을 통해 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 동영상에는 교수학습 형태가 가장 많았고, 교사 역할 성인이 전달 주체인 경우가 가장 많았으며, 길이는 5분 이상 10분 미만이 가장 일반적이었다. 내용측면에서는 주제와 인지적 내용으로 기후변화와 육상 생태계, 사회정서적 내용으로 환경 연대감 강조, 행동적 내용으로 쓰레기 처리 실천이 가장 빈번히 다뤄졌다. 유아대상 전달 방법은 전반적으로 적절하게 구성된 편이었다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로, 유아 대상 지속가능발전 지향 환경교육 동영상에는 보다 다양한 지속가능발전 목표를 포함하고, 포괄적인 접근을 반영할 필요가 있다. 한편, 이러한 동영상을 잘 활용하기 위해서는 내용에 관한 교사와 유아의 지속적인 대화가 도움이 될 것이다.

Objective: This study analyzes 55 environmental education videos focused on sustainable development specifically designed for young children, available on a national environmental education online platform. It examines their characteristics and suggest strategies. Methods: The study assessed the general characteristics of the videos (type, speaker, and length), content (themes, cognitive, socio-emotional, and behavioral content), and presentation methods for young children (content structure, linguistic expression, additional visual and audio elements to engage interest). Results were presented as frequencies and percentages. Results: Most videos followed a teaching-learning format, were most often delivered by an adult acting as a teacher, and lasted between 5 to 10 minutes. The presentation methods were generally effective in terms of content organization and expression. The most common themes and cognitive content addressed ‘climate change’ and ‘life on land’, while socio-emotional content emphasized ‘environmental solidarity’. Behavioral content primarily focused on ’waste disposal practices’. The overall presentation methods for young children were appropriate. Conclusions: These findings suggest that environmental education videos for young children, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) should incorporate a broader range of sustainability themes and adopt a more comprehensive approach. Additionally, encouraging ongoing teacher-child discussions about video content can enhance the effectiveness of these educational materials.
