2024년 8월 19일에 부산광역시 해운대에서 통발 어획물에서 채집된 씬벵이과 어류 1개체 (체장 44.4 mm)를 형태 동정한 결과 한국에서 처음 보고되는 Abantennarius nummifer로 확인되었다. 본종은 불분지 가슴지느러미 연조를 가진 점, 등지느러미 제2 및 제3극조가 분리된 점, 등지느러미 제2극조에 막이 없다는 점이 특징적이다. 본종은 Abantennarius rosaceus와 달리 등지느러미 제2극조의 뒷면에 피부 소극이 없다는 점에서 잘 구분된다. 우리나라에서 처음 보고되는 Ab. nummifer의 새로운 국명으로 등지느러미 기저에 큰 점을 가지는 특징에 의해 ‘큰점씬벵이속’, ‘큰점씬벵이’를 제안한다.

A single individual (44.4 mm in standard length) belonging to the family Antennariidae was collected from the coast of Haeundae, Busan, and was identified as Abantennarius nummifer, which is the first record in Korea. This species is characterized by unbranched pectoral fin rays, unconnected second and third dorsal spines, and no second dorsal spine membrane. It can be distinguished from Abantennarius rosaceus by the absence of dermal spinules on the posterior edge of the second dorsal spine. We suggest the new Korean names ‘Keun-jeom-ssin-beng-i-sog’ for the genus Abantennarius and ‘Keun-jeom-ssin-beng-i’ for the species Abantennarius nummifer based on having a large spot on the dorsal fin base.
