본 연구는 국내외 무용 교육 기관에서 필라테스가 교육 과정에 어떻게 도입되고 운영되고 있는지를 수업 유형과 제도적 운영 요소를 중심으로 비교 분석함으로써, 무용 교육 내 필라테스의 교육적 가능성과 제도적 정착 방향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 필라테스 관련 교과목은 교육 목적과 기능적 특성에 따라 기초 해부학 및 신체 이해, 수행력 향상 중심, 통합적 신체 인식, 회복 중심·치유 무브먼트, 전공 실기 통합 및 최적화의 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류하였으며, 각 유형별로 교육 목표, 수업 구성, 학습 성과, 평가 방식뿐 아니라 교수자 자격, 실습 환경, 교과목 이수 구분 등의 운영 체계까지 포함하여 국내외 사례를 비교하였다. 분석 결과, 국내 대학은 기능 중심 실기 수업과 정량 평가 중심 구조에 집중되어 있으나 점차 정규 교과화 시도가 나타나고 있었고, 국외 대학은 필라테스를 핵심 모듈로 편성하고 소마틱 통합, 회복 중심 교육, 질적 평가 등을 포함한 다층적 구조를 갖추고 있었다. 본 연구는 필라테스가 무용 교육의 전인적 성장과 전문성 강화를 동시에 실현할 수 있는 교육 자원임을 밝히고, 국내 교육 현장에서의 효과적인 적용 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

This study explores how Pilates is integrated into dance curricula by comparing course types and institutional structures at universities in South Korea and abroad. Pilates-related courses were categorized into five types: anatomical and functional understanding, performance enhancement, somatic-based self-awareness, recovery and therapeutic movement, and integrated technical training. Each type was analyzed in terms of educational goals, course composition, learning outcomes, assessment methods, and additionally, instructor qualifications, learning environments, and curricular status (core/elective). Findings reveal that Korean institutions often operate Pilates as elective or supplemental courses with limited infrastructure, while global universities implement it as a core module with integrated somatic philosophy, self-directed training, and qualitative assessment. This study suggests practical and policy directions for more effective integration of Pilates into professional dance education.
