Dictionaries are an important learning tool in learning Korean vocabulary. Previous studies have confirmed that the use of dictionaries has a positive effect on vocabulary learning and promotes self-directed learning. In particular, online dictionaries support effective vocabulary learning by providing various multimedia materials and latest information. However, there are difficulties for foreign Korean learners in the search method. Existing dictionaries cannot be searched for Korean structural expressions or sentences. Due to this, it is difficult for beginner learners who lack understanding of the composition of Korean sentences to find the desired information using dictionaries. To solve this problem, this study proposed a new dictionary search method using morpheme analysis technology and developed a ‘Kind Search Dictionary’. The dictionary data required for this program were downloaded and used as web-based ‘Korean Basic Dictionary’, and the ‘Kiwipiepy’ was applied for morpheme analysis. This method can respond to individual words as well as Korean structural expressions and sentences inputs, helping learners find the desired vocabulary information more easily and accurately. Through this, it is expected to increase the vocabulary acquisition efficiency of Korean learners and ultimately contribute to improving communication skills.
