본 연구는 청년 주거 빈곤 해소를 위한 청년세대 주거공동체 모델 구축을 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 청년 주거공동체를 운영한 5명의 실무자를 대상으로 초점 집단인터뷰를 시행하고, Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는‘청년 주거빈곤의 복합 요인’, ‘청년의 목소리를 반영하지 못하는 청년 주거지원 제도’, ‘공동체 접근의 청년 주거 모델’, ‘지자체와 중앙정부의 역할’ 등 네 가지 범주로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 단순한 주거 공간을 넘어서, ‘느슨한 공동체’적 삶인 ‘따로 또 같이’의 공동체적 주거모델을 가능하게 하였다. 또한 주거공동체 모델은 청년들의 사회적 고립을 극복하고 지역사회에서 좋은 어른으로 성장할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 청년들의 사회적 자본 구축에 중요한 요소임을 시사하고 있다.

This study aims to develop a housing community model for young adults as a strategy to alleviate youth housing poverty. To achieve this objective, focus group interviews were conducted with practitioners involved in managing youth housing communities, and the data were analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. The analysis yielded four thematic categories: (1) the complex factors underlying youth housing poverty; (2) a youth housing support system that fails to incorporate the perspectives of young people; (3) a community-based youth housing model; and (4) the roles of local and central government. These findings informed the development of a community housing model characterized by a “separate but together” approach―emphasizing a loosely connected community life that extends beyond the mere provision of housing. Moreover, the housing community model underscores the importance of fostering social capital among youth by providing opportunities to overcome social isolation and facilitating their development into well-integrated members of society.
